MFTeaser - Butterflies

Welcome to day two of seven fabulous days of MFT teasers!

I have a beautiful card today showcasing the previously released Inspired by Butterflies set and the NEW coordinating Inspired by Butterflies Die-namics.

This new set of three Inspired by Butterflies Die-namics dies are perfect for cutting out the butterflies in the stamp set. I decided to make a patterned paper butterfly so I pulled out pretty papers from the My Mind's Eye Blush paper pad. The layout is the Deconstructed Sketch 38, but I used the mirror image of the sketch.

I cut the butterfly out of patterned paper then stamped the image with black ink. The polka dot background oval was cut out with the new Oval Stax Set 2 and I layered it over a pink scallop oval which I cut out with the Oval Open Scallop Doily Die-namics.

For the flower accent I used the Royal Rose Die-namics cut from one of the patterned papers.

On the inside I used the Oval Stax Set 2 again to cut out the cream oval, the stamped the butterfly in pink and the sentiment in black.

Sky's the Limit {MFTWSC61}

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 61.

I decided to use Inspired by Up, Up and Away and the new coordinating Up, Up and Away Die-namics dies. I love that MFT created these new balloon dies to coordinate with the previously released stamp set.

I added a little texture by using the wonky scallop border Die-namics to cut out some puff cloud white felt for the horizontal piece.

First I cut out the balloons then I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black. It's so easy to line up the image with the die because the stamps are clear...sweet!! Then I coloured the images with copic markers. The patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart Be Amazing 6x6 paper pad. I didn't actually start out with a blue and orange theme...I thought it was going to be a little more multicolour, but I love the end result.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from the set and added the smaller balloon, stamped with Memento Cantaloupe. The small scallop border Die-namics was perfect to cut out the orange scallop.

Here are the sketchy details:

There's a prize each week for one participant, chosen at random. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week a keyword is assigned to the sketch, and this week's keyword is MFTWSC61. MFTeaser - Puddle Jumper

Welcome to day one of seven fabulous days of MFT teasers!!!

Today I have a super cheery card featuring Who's That Girl Puddle Jumper. She's a paper piecing dream!!

I used the new Mini Monarch Border Die-namics cut from white card stock along the right edge and jazzed it up with yellow rhinestones. The layout is the Deconstructed Sketch #39 and the bright patterned papers are from the Echo Park Country Drive paper pad.

The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with copic markers. I couldn't resist giving her some striped rain boots and a fun yellow rain slicker. I added clear glaze pen to the puddle to make it look shiny and wet. The sentiment was stamped onto a yellow piece which I cut out with the mix & match banners Die-namics then I topped it with a pink button to tie it in.

Check out this gorgeous new Royal Rose Die-namics. It's another in the rolled flower series of Die-namics dies but this one has scallopy, slightly jagged looking petals just like a real rose does. It's beautiful!!!

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from the set onto a big oval of white card stock which I cut out with the largest size of the new Oval Stax set 2 Die-namics. These are such a versatile set of dies that I know I'll be reaching for time and time again!!

Sweet Sunday Joy

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC153. No surprise here...I created a Christmas card, which is card #10 for Project Christmas 2012.

I used Inspired by Christmas from My Favorite Things and kept this card pretty simple and it was relatively quick too. I stamped the image with versamark ink onto kraft card stock and embossed it with vanilla powder. I used the skyline border Die-namics for the horizontal layer and the patterned paper is My Mind's Eye The Merry Days of Christmas.

I had to add a flower embellishment, which grew into three flowers, which were all cut out using the smallest bloom in the Upsy Daisy Die-namics. The flowers are cut from two of the papers from the Christmas paper pack.  I added a cream brad to the center of each and tucked a few leaves around the edges, also cut out with the Upsy Daisy Die-namics.

I hope you'll play along and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers came up with.

Happy Birthday

Did you know that My Favorite Things is sponsoring this week's sketch over at Card Patterns? That's great news, because it means there's an MFT prize up for grabs, so go check out Sketch 154 and play along.

I need to bulk up my stash of birthday cards so that's the direction I took with the sketch. I used the new Finishing Flourishes set and papers from the My Mind's Eye Be Happy 6x6 pad. But that background piece is not patterned paper...I created a stamped background using one of the flourishes in the set and Memento Desert Sand ink. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and I added a strip of patterned paper before stitching around the edge. I used the Faux Crochet Border Die-namics to cut out a strip of kraft, which I added to the sentiment panel.

I wrapped some twine around the sentiment panel and left nice big loops that peek out from under the gorgeous flower, which was cut out using the new Botanical Beauty Die-namics...swoon!!! I also used the Leafy Flourish Die-namics to cut out a light sage piece and tucked it under the flower.

Look at the dimension on this flower!!!

Posh has a Present

It was another Bellariffic Friday sketch challenge this week and I found a little time to play along with my new Uptown Girl Posh has a Present from Stamping Bella.

I knew I wanted to make a girlie pink card so I pulled out my Glitz Pretty in Pink 6x6 paper pad. The first page I flipped to was this gorgeous rose paper and I knew it just had to be her dress. The rest of the pink and brown shades came right from that paper and I adore how this turned out. Her gift bag didn't fit within even my largest oval nestabilities shapes, but that's ok, because I just added it on the outside. I adored it with pink rhinestones and added shimmer to the other pink parts with my pink Spica glitter pen. I added a tiny fuchsia rose and the green flourish was cut out using the fancy flourish Die-namics. Oh, and I added a hint of light pink shading around her body...a little difficult to see in the photo but in person it's the perfect touch!!

Don't forget to hop over to Bloggabella to see the rest of this week's submissions, and you still have time to play along and win a prize over in the Stamping Bella forum on Splitcoast.

Rock Star {MFTWSC60}

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 60.

Have you got your sunglasses handy, because you just might need them since my card is b-r-i-g-h-t! And actually, the colours are even brighter in person, if that's at all possible. LOL!

I inked up Ă  la modes Rock Star for today's sketch and coloured her with copic markers. I wanted her guitar to be sparkly though so I highlighted it with a pink Spica glitter pen. I cut out the image with a nestability and layered it onto pink, which I cut out using the open scallop doily Die-namics die. I used the mini tabs foursome Die-namics to cut out the yellow tab for the sentiment. The stacking stars Die-namics were perfect for accenting this image and I topped the yellow one with a pink button I cut out using the button quartet Die-namics. Of course, no rock star is complete without a bunch of bling, so I added a rhinestone circle around the image. All these bright colours are thanks to the striped piece which comes from the Echo Park Country Drive 6x6 pad.

On the inside I added a small yellow star and the yellow scallop layer was cut out with the scallop ribbon Die-namics.
