Radical {MFTWSC87}

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 87.

I used à la modes 80's Girl for my card this week. She brings back so many great memories of my teen years...leg warmers, ghetto blasters (am I even allowed to call them that now?), and of course, all the 80's lingo. So FUN!!! I used the Mini Tabs Foursome Die-namics for the little sentiment tab tucked under the image panel.

I chose papers from the My Mind's Eye Happy Day paper pad...it has lots of fun patterns and colours. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured her with copic markers. I paper pieced her sweater and those adorable leg warmers. I used the Rectangle 1 STAX and Rectangle 2 STAX Die-namics to cut out the image panel and the Orange Fizz layer.

I used the Open Bracket Border Die-namics cut from Orange Fizz cardstock along the left edge. The flower embellishment was created using the Prima Donna Petals Die-namics. I cut out the larger layer from Wild Cherry Felt and the top layer from Orange Fizz card stock. The I topped it with a Pink Lemonade button tied with Hemp Cord. I like how the Hemp Cord ties in with the Kraft card stock base layer.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from the set, turning this into another birthday card for my stash.

Here are all the sketchy details:

There's a prize each week for one participant, chosen at random. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week a keyword is assigned to the sketch, and this week's keyword is MFTWSC87. All you need to do to enter is upload your card to the gallery at Splitcoast and enter the given keyword in the keyword box during the upload process. After the deadline (noon Eastern on Tuesday) we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher!

Sweet Sunday Birthday

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC166.

This is yet another fabulous sketch to work with! I love circles though, so I'm always a happy camper when I see them on a sketch, but I used the mirror image of the sketch. It works so much better this way with my sweet Mouse in the House It's Your Birthday set from My Favorite Things.

Is she not the cutest mouse ever? Ooooh she just makes me smile! I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured her with copic markers. I used papers from the My Mind's Eye Tangerine paper pad and pieced her shirt with the floral pattern. The image and Kraft layer were cut out with the Circle 1 STAX and Circle 2 STAX Die-namics before I stitched them together. I used the Banner Strip Die-namics and Mini Alphabet stamps to create the fun birthday banner and anchored the ends with Orange Fizz buttons. The twine strip across the top of the banner is Mandarin twine.

On the inside I added Orange Fizz and Kraft layers for a pop of colour and stamped the mouse again in orange ink, along with a sentiment from the set.

I hope you'll play along and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.

Fa-la-la-la-la

When I sat down to stamp I hadn't yet put away the Authentique Festive papers I used on my last card, so I decided to use them again and create card #26 for Project Christmas 2012.

I used the MFT Guest Designer Challenge sketch for the layout. You can read all about the the Guest Designer Challenge on this thread on Splitcoast and if you haven't already played along, you really should. Trust me...it's a fabulous prize package!!

I inked up Pure Innocence Christmas Caroler and paper pieced her dress. The rest of her was coloured with copic markers. I used the Rectangle 1 STAX and Rectangle 2 STAX Die-namics to cut out the two main layers. I added a fun burlap flower which I cut out using the Pretty Posies Die-namics. I topped it with a Red Hot button and some Hemp Cord.

I used the Mini Tabs Foursome Die-namics to cut out the sentiment tab from Kraft card stock. The other solid card stock colours are Red Hot and Gumdrop Green. The cool thing about this new Authentique paper pack is the top of each sheet has a strip of music paper, which I used for the two angled strips. I added some Red Hot grosgrain ribbon beneath each strip to make them pop a little .

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from the set and added some holly leaves which I cut out using the Ornament Die-namics.

Snowman {MFTWSC86}

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 86.

I used Pure Innocence Holiday Hugs Snowman to create card #25 for Project Christmas 2012. Yay!

I cut out the image panel and the Red Hot layer with the Square 1 STAX Die-namics then stitched them together. The Let it Snowflake Die-namics were perfect for the embellishment and I topped it with a Whip Cream Button tied with Hemp Cord. I told you I use this Hemp Cord allllllll the time. ;-)
The cream scallop along the bottom was cut out using the Triple Scallop Border Die-namics.

I tried my hand at giving him a bit of a watercoloured look on his hat and scarf. I think I like it...I wouldn't exactly say it looks watercoloured, but I do like the bits of white space. I'll keep working on it.  The patterned papers are from the Authentique Festive 6x6 bundle.

On the inside I stamped the snowman again with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink onto Kraft card stock then added the sentiment with black ink. Nice and simple with plenty of space for a personal message.

I have two cards to share and I'll start with my Rockin' card using Pure Innocence Prehistoric Girl.

I love her little dress and I really wanted it to show more, so I placed her popping out of the circles instead of just peeking into the circles of the Peek-a-Boo Trio Die-namics. The sentiment is from the Costumed Cuties Sentiments Mini set and I cut out the Peek-a-coo Trio Die-namics from Kraft card stock.

I stamped her three time onto cream cardstock and coloured her with copic markers. Then I stamped her  three times again onto papers from the Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic paper pack so I could paper piece her dress. The papers are basically solids, but I added the animal print to each dress using one of the small accent stamps from the set. I used the Wavy Edge Die-namics to add interest to the dark teal layer then wrapped some Hemp Cord several times and tied a Whip Cream button.

Guess Whoooooo is next...Pure Innocence Owl Costume!

I made a fun card using Jen's August Sketch For You To Try, which shows off this little cutie perfectly. I coloured her with copic markers and placed her on a rectangle of Kraft card stock which I cut out with the Rectangle 1 STAX Die-namics. I thought the Double Scallop Border Die-namics worked perfectly with this cutie so I cut two from cream card stock and added them to the horizontal strips. I used the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics to cut out the dark teal vertical strip. The flower was cut out using the Upsy Daisy Die-namics and topped with a Whip Cream Button tied with Hemp Cord.
I used the Photo Corners Die-namics to add interest to the image panel.

On the inside I stamped the owl girl with Memento Peanut Brittle ink and added one of the sentiments from the set.

Head on over the MFT Boutique and pick up your very own Pure Innocence Costumed Cuties VIP Collection.
