You Rock

There's a fun announcement over on the MFT blog...it might just be another fabulous designer to welcome to the My Favorite Things family...just saying...but you should go check it out.

I made this card to celebrate, using Document It - Rock On and the Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics. This is such a fun set of stamps and coordinating dies...perfect for so many occasions both masculine and feminine. I went with a pink and black theme and used Mojo286 for the layout.

I stamped the sentiment with Razzle Berry Premium Dye Ink onto Sweet Tooth card stock then added a row of clear rhinestones, which I coloured with my black copic marker. I used the Triple Scallop Border Die-namics to cut out the Razzle Berry border.

I used polka dot paper from the Echo Park Dots and Stripes collection to create the flag element, cutting it out with the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics. Then I used the Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics to cut out the Black Licorice star and the Kraft guitar (with a Razzle Berry accent). I added glitter dots to the star for a little more bling (it is rock and roll after all!).

Sweet Sunday Easter

Happy Easter! It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC181.

Given that today is Easter Sunday I went with an Easter theme and used Pure Innocence Bunny Ears from My Favorite Things. I flipped the sketch to fit with the image.

I started with a base of Whip Cream card stock then added layers of Sno Cone and Kraft. I used the Darling Dots stamp set to stamp the polka dots onto the Whip Cream panel using Sno Cone Premium Dye Ink. Then I used the Small Scallop Border Die-namics to cut out the Sno Cone scallop. All the layers were inked with Kraft Premium Dye Ink.

For the image, I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloured her with copic markers. I paper pieced the egg with one of the patterns from the Fancy Pants Park Bench collection. I added some Stickles to her ears, tail, and shoes for a little sparkle and popped her on foam tape for dimension.

For the sentiment I used the arrow die from the Accent It-Labels and Tags Die-namics to cut out the Sno Cone arrow. Then I stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. The arrow was a little too long though so I placed it back in the die with the end overhanging and ran it through my Vagabond again to shorten it.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from Pure Innocence Bunny Ears.

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's Blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.

Thinking of You

I needed a sympathy card recently so I reached for Inspired by Flowers 4 from My Favorite Things. The floral images and heartfelt sentiments were just perfect for what I envisioned.

I started with a card base of Whip Cream then added a layer of Hot Fudge (Does anyone else ever get hungry when talking about the fabulous colours in the MFT line-up? The names are so delish!!). I ran the Pink Lemonade layer through my swiss dots embossing folder before stitching it in place. The script paper is from the My Mind's Eye Lavender collection and I used SC427 for the layout.

I stamped the flower image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Kraft card stock and coloured it with copic markers. I tested each of the colours on a scrap of Kraft though because they show up so differently than on white. For the sentiment I used the larger banner from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics to cut out the Whip Cream piece, then stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. I finished the card by tying a Hemp Cord bow.

On the inside I stamped another flower from Inspired by Flowers 4 with Pink Lemonade Premium Dye Ink and added another sentiment from the set.
