Today I have a sweet birthday card to share, which I made using Pure Innocence Birthday Girl from My Favorite Things. I adore her...she's just darling!
The layout for my card is this month's MFT Guest Designer Contest sketch. It's your opportunity to win a spot creating alongside the MFT Design Team for a full month and have your smiling face featured on the MFT Blog along with the design team. Best of all though is the amazing prize you'll win! Over $200 worth of brand new products to create with. Read all the details on THIS THREAD on Splitcoast and get stamping!!!
For my card I started with a card base of Whip Cream then added a layer of Berrylicious and a square of Kraft. The patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye Remarkable collection.
I stamped this darling PI Birthday Girl with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloured her with copic markers. Her dress was paper pieced with two coordinating patterned papers, then I fussy cut around her (which I really enjoy doing, by the way! I know, I'm a freak who likes cutting things out. LOL!). I used the Circle 1 STAX Die-namics and the Circle 2 STAX Die-namics to cut out the yellow and Whip Cream circles then I stitched them together after embossing the yellow layer for a little texture. I adhered her with foam tape for a little dimension.
I used the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics to cut out the floral flag. I knew I wanted to add a little sentiment to the front of the card and it took me a few minutes to figure out just where to place it because I didn't want it to look like "an add-on". I used the same Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics to cut out a Whip Cream Flag and stamped 'Celebrate' using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. I had to carefully ink the word because it's part of a longer sentiment. Then I used the Small Scallop Border Die-namics to cut out a little strip of Nightshift Blue and attached it to the top.
On the inside I added another strip of patterned paper and stamped the entire 'Celebrate' sentiment from Pure Innocence Birthday Girl.
I hope I've inspired you to play along with the MFT Guest Designer Contest Sketch! Have fun!! Don't forget to use the proper keyword, MFTGUESTDT0313, when you upload to the Splitcoast Gallery.
Here are the supplies I used:
