Funky Cupcake

I made this for my BFF's birthday...Dana, don't look! The sketch is Taylor's cupcake Challenge from last Friday. I had trouble with the sketch this time...not sure I love the square part below the image but I really like the rest of the card. Dana's favourite colour is pumpkin, so right away I knew I wanted to use papers from We R Memory Keeper's White Out collection. It has some really fun patterns with great colours.

The first image I wanted to use was Stella's Cupcake, but when I went to reach for it, it wasn't there. GASP!!! I don't own that one?!? It's pretty bad when you look at the Bella website so often that you start thinking you own things you don't. LOL! So, then I decided on this fabulous Cupcakeabella. One problem though, she doesn't fit into ovals. Hmpf...so I decided to cut the oval so that her leg would be kicking out of it and best of all, the Bonbons are positioned so it looks like she's kicking them! Too cute!!!

I stamped the image with Memento black onto Gina K pure luxury cardstock. Her dress is paper pieced and the rest is coloured with copics. I popped the frosting layer and added some shimmer paint to make it glisten. The white oval is hand cut (I traced around a nestie then cut it with scissors) because using a nestie to cut it out would have amputated her leg.
The card base and ribbon are both SU chocolate and the sentiment is Stamping Bella.

Thanks for stopping by!
Karen

Wow - 3 posts in one day - you've been a busy lady. Dana will love the card and you made me laugh with the bit about cutting out her leg so she's kicking those Bonbons. Cute!
