Today is the Die-namics feature and Pep Rally, where we really dig into the delicious Die-namics being released tonight. I'm sure you'll see some amazing ideas, and I've come up with a fun way to use the Jumbo Squiggle Border Die-namics to create some funky vases.
The idea came to me the very first time I cut the Jumbo Squiggle Border Die-namics down to size for the first card I made with it. The off-cut immediately looked like a vase so I tucked that idea away for today's post.
Vase Tutorial using the Jumbo Squiggle Border Die-namics:
1. Cut a Jumbo Squiggle Border Die-namics. I used patterned paper from the Carta Bella Beautiful Moments 6x6 paper pad.
2. Decide how "tall" you want your first vase to be. I cut mine to be the shortest of three vases.
3. Cut the second vase...this is my tallest vase.
4. Cut the third vase...my medium sized vase, and probably my favourite shaped vase (if I had to choose).
5. Here are my three vases along the top row and the negative cuts along the bottom, which I won't be using.
6. Here are all the pieces of my flowers and vases. I used the Vine Border Die-namics to cut out Jellybean Green card stock for the leaves then snipped three sets of leaves from the vine. I used the centers from the Plentiful Petals Die-namics for the flowers. I used the smallest size to cut out Wisteria felt and the middle size to cut out Grape Jelly card stock.
Here are the finished flowers and vases, all wrapped up with some Lilac Twine and topped with buttons. I used the Jumbo Squiggle Border Die-namics to cut out the Fossil card stock piece which I tucked under the Hot Fudge strip. For the stems I simply used my paper trimmer to cut three narrow strips of Jellybean Green card stock. The sentiment is from the new Clearly Sentimental about Audrey Hepburn set.
