Holiday Penguin

My parents are still here visiting but they went to the movies yesterday so I took the opportunity to get into my stamp room. I've been itching to use this new Penguin Pals set from Taylored Expressions...these little guys are totally adorable!!!

I started with a sketch from the Sweet Stop blog, SSS68. The image is stamped twice with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White and coloured with copic markers. I used my clear glaze pen to add shine to the light bulbs on the tree and coated the fuzzy parts of the santa hat with white liquid applique, then sprinkled it with glitter before heat setting it. I popped the penguin on foam tape for dimension after cutting out the image with square Nestabilities. All the papers, ribbon and blue rhinestones are from my Snow Day Project Pantry...LOVE those non-traditional colours!!! I never knew I was such a purple girl, but I really love using it on cards for all seasons! :-)

In case you don't already know, Taylor is hosting the "12 days of a Handcrafted Christmas" over on her blog. She's already shared fabulous projects and I'm sure there are plenty more great ideas to come so be sure to check it out. The products Taylor uses each day are on sale in the TE Store and if you leave a comment you'll be entered for a chance to win the adorable apron she's wearing in the videos!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
