MFTeaser - Party!

Welcome to day four of seven fabulous days of MFT teasers!

Today is a party with You're Invited and the Peek-a-Boo Chevrons Die-namics. All the new products will be available in the MFT Boutique on August 6th at 10pm EDT. Hop over to the MFT Blog for all the details.

I created a clean and simple birthday party invitation on a base of Kraft card stock.

I stamped the sentiment  from You're Invited with Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink (it covers BEAUTIFULLY!) directly onto the card base then I set it aside to dry for a few hours. I could have sped up the drying process with my heat tool but I didn't want to warp the card stock. Once the white ink was dry I used a technique I saw Jennifer McGuire do in this post, stamping coloured ink over white. I stamped the word Party a second time with Grape Jelly Premium Dye Ink slightly offset on the white ink. I think it's so cool how you end up with three shades...white, dark purple, and medium purple.

Then I created the rainbow of chevrons by using the Peek-a-Boo Chevrons Die-namics to cut out pieces of Red Hot, Orange Fizz, Lemon Drop, Sour Apple, Blu Raspberry, and Grape Jelly card stocks. I'd love to say it was good design that I ended up with two chevrons of each colour, but it was totally good luck. ;-)

You'll find more information on the MFT Blog, along with a list of today's participating designers.

Here are the supplies I used:

Great invitation. The rainbow chevrons are fantastic and I love how that triple stamping give such dimension to the sentiment.

I saw Jennifer's technique before but I hadn't realised it could be used to produce lettering with both highlight and shadows... so effective. Love the CAS feel of the card too!

I love the rainbow effect with this chevron and that it can be masculine too! Fun card!

Karen, there is no way you can convince me it was luck! But it does who that this chevron die is perfect for the scrap pile! It makes everything so intentional! And those itty bitty storage things that stack up, those tool boxes that hold nails and screws, now they can hold chevrons and triangles that I punch out while watching a movie or TV and have whenever I need them! Genius! Excellent card!
