Boo and You're a Star

Today is the monthly Design Team Challenge with My Favorite Things and we're focusing on the growing line of Peek-a-Boo style Die-namics. Hop over to the MFT Blog for a list of today's participating designers.

I created two cards and I'll start with my Halloween card.

I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added a layer of Grapesicle. I used the Peek-a-Boo Trio Die-namics to cut out the Steel Grey strip. I love that it stretches right across the width of an A2 card.

I kept the card clean and simple but I used the Primitive Pumpkins stamp set to decorate. I started by cutting out some Smooth White pumpkins using the Primitive Pumpkins Die-namics. I stamped the two medium size pumpkins with Fuse Green Premium Dye Ink and tucked them under the Steel Grey layer.  The large pumpkin was stamped with Orange Fizz Premium Dye Ink and the small one with Grape Jelly Premium Dye Ink. I used the Peek-a-Boo Trio Die-namics again to cut out the circle on Smooth White then stamped the 'Boo!' sentiment with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

I added a layer of Kraft along the bottom of the card and a strip of Orange Fizz, then I finished it with a Fuse Green button tied with Hemp Cord.

On the inside of the card I stamped the star strip with Grape Jelly Premium Dye Ink. I added another sentiment from Primitive Pumpkins using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

Next up I have a sunny star card.

I was inspired by the 'you're a star' sentiment from Bold Statements and I paired it with the Scattered Stars Die-namics. I know it doesn't have peek-a-boo in the name but it's still in the peek-a-boo style.

I started with a Sweet Tooth card base again and added a layer of Banana Split. Then I set to work with the Scattered Stars Die-namics. I placed it in the middle of the Steel Grey panel and ran it through my Vagabond. Then I moved it over to each side and ran it through my Vagabond two more times. I held the die in place with some tape so it wouldn't move.

The sentiment from Bold Statements was stamped onto Smooth White using Lemon Drop Premium Dye Ink and Steel Grey Premium Dye Ink. I actually cut the sentiment apart...very carefully...to make it easier to ink in two colours. Some silver brads finish it nicely and add a bit of shine.
