Sweet Sunday Sleigh

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC185.

This week's sketch is perfect for so many images and sayings, and I took the opportunity to add another card to my Christmas card stash. This is card #8 (I'm so far behind for the year my one-card-a-week quest, but I know I'm still ahead of the game!) for Project Christmas 2013.

I started with a Whip Cream card base then added a layer of Kraft. The patterned papers are from the Carta Bella Winter Fun Collection (the darker blue layer is one of the solids from the collection). I inked all the edges with Kraft Premium Dye Ink then stitched the layers together. I used the Open Simply Scallops Trio Die-namics to cut out the Sno Cone scalloped strip.

For the image I decided to ink up Pure Innocence Sending You a Little Christmas from My Favorite Things. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It Blending Card, coloured her with copic markers, and cut out the image using the Square 1 STAX Die-namics. I added shine to the ornaments on the tree and the buttons on her coat using my clear glaze pen. The fur trim on her hat and boots was done with white liquid appliqué, and I let it dry for a few hours before puffing it with my heat gun, which gives smaller puffs that are more in scale with the small image.

For the bow accent I started by adding a strip of Kraft grosgrain ribbon, then I used the Dainty Bows Die-namics to cut out some Kraft felt. The felt seems to warm up the card a little.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from Pure Innocence Sending You a Little Christmas using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink then I stamped the girl again with Kraft Premium Dye Ink.

I hope you'll play along and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers have created.

Karen this is gorgeous! I'm really lovin' the sponging using the kraft ink. I need to try that. My favorite is the soft felt bow. Just the perfect touch to an already perfect card!
