Get Well Soon {MFTWSC111}

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 111.

This week's sketch lends itself perfectly to a clean and simple card so I put some of my new skills to work.

I started with a Kraft card base then ran the bottom half of it through my modern wallpaper embossing folder. I cut a strip of Whip Cream for the sentiment, which is from the On the Line stamp set. I wanted to emboss the sentiment so it would be shiny but there's an extra step you need to do when using a dye ink (because it dries too quickly).

First I inked the clean stamp with Versamark ink, then, without cleaning it, I inked it with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. Then I sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and heat set it. Presto...and pretty, shiny sentiment (even though it looks weirdly spotty in the photo). I used the Fishtail Banner Die-namics to cut out the patterned paper banners and added a tiny Hemp Cord bow.

The big flower is the Winter Rose Die-namics. I cut it out of patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Memorable collection and topped it with Sour Apple button.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from Finishing Flourishes then added a flourish, stamped with Kraft Premium Dye Ink.

There's a prize each week for one participant, chosen at random. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week a keyword is assigned to the sketch, and this week's keyword is MFTWSC111. All you need to do to enter is upload your card to the gallery at Splitcoast and enter the given keyword in the keyword box during the upload process. After the deadline (noon Eastern on Tuesday) we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher!

Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog to view the entire list of design team participants...there's plenty of inspiration for you with today’s sketch!

Here are the supplies I used:
