Sweet Sunday Only One

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC176, designed by the talented Vicki Burdick. Thanks for the big circle and the flag Vicki...love it!!

I went lovey dovey with this sketch and used Lovey-Dovey Sentiments from My Favorite Things.

I started with a base of Sweet Tooth cardstock then added another layer of Sweet Tooth and three panels of patterned paper from the Echo Park Love Story collection. I used the Fishtail Flags Layers STAX Die-namics to cut out the Steel Grey flag then used the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics to cut out the perfectly layered Sweet Tooth flag. I ran it through my polka dots embossing folder for a little texture.

For the main panel I used the Heart Doily Die-namics to cut out the Wild Cherry doily. When I pulled the cardstock out of the die, all the little pieces stayed in place and I really liked that look so I wanted to keep it. See below for photos of my tip to keep them in place. I used the Circle 1 STAX and Circle 2 STAX Die-namics to cut out the Sweet Tooth and Pink Lemonade layers, then stamped the sentiment from Lovey-Dovey Sentiments with MFT Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. I added some Star Dust Stickles to the hearts on the doily for a little sparkle.

On the inside I combined the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics and the Rustic Hearts Die-namics to create the accent flag, then stamped another sentiment from Lovey-Dovey Sentiments with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.

Heart Doily Tip:
If you remove the doily carefully from the die, the cut pieces may stay in place. If a few pieces do pop out you can place them back into the doily. But I didn't want any pieces to fall out over time or as the recipient is handling the card so...

Place pieces of scotch tape on the back of the doily, taking care to cover each of the cut pieces so they'll stay in place long after you've given the card away.

Here are the supplies I used:

Thanks for stopping by!

Oh I love this!!! You've convinced me to get that heart die! Wasn't sure I'd use it but I can think of a few cute PI girls to use with it ;)
I like leaving the pieces in on these type of dies too! Thanks for the tip about taping!!
