Sweet Sunday Birthday

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge SSSC203. I'm loving that we're back to weekly sketches…how about you?

I needed to make a card for hubby's birthday so I used this week's sketch to create a simple, masculine birthday card.

They're always the most difficult type of card to make, IMHO, and I think this one turned out great! The orange fizz background layer was embossed with the Diamond Plate Cuttlebug folder and the patterned paper is from the My Mind's Eye Boy Crazy collection. I used the Banner Greetings stamp set and coordinating Banner Greetings Die-namics from My Favorite Things for the sentiment and popped it on foam tape for dimension.

I coated the star accents with a few layers of clear glaze pen to make them stand out a little and to help give the card some dimension with the shine.

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.

Create Your Own Sunshine

I'm playing along with this week's Bellariffic Friday challenge which is a sketch. I do love me a good sketch!!!

It took me a little while to decide just what I wanted to do with the sketch but once I figured it out, the card came together pretty quickly. The lovely image I decided to use is Uptown Girl Sunny is Stylish. I adore the Uptowns from Stamping Bella!!!

I coloured her with coipc markers then fussy cut around her and adhered her with foam tape. I added a couple coats of clear glaze pen to her glasses and some sparkle to the ruffles and buttons thanks to my Wink of Stella pen. Maybe you can see the details in this shot.

I used my swiss dots embossing folder on the background layer and stitched it into place. The patterned paper is from the My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing Honey collection.

Hop over to Bloggabella to see this week's participants.

Sweet Sunday Happy Mail

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC202.

I couldn't resist flipping the sketch this week so I could use the sweet Pure Innocence Happy Mail stamp set.

I pulled out some older Valentine paper, Bo Bunny Love Letters, and paper pieced her dress with a bold print. I thought the postage stamp paper was perfect for the flag element. Please excuse the little piece of lint on her face…I didn't even notice it when I was editing the photos, then as I was proof reading my post I kept trying to brush it off my screen. Doh!!

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.
