Sweet Friend

This was a difficult post to write because as you may have read on the MFT Blog, this is my last post as a design team member.

I will be ever grateful for the wonderful time I've had on the MFT design team. I've made some wonderful stamping friends who turned out to be even more amazing in real life, and they'll always hold a special place in my heart. Don't worry though…I'm still going to be stamping, and of course I'll be stalking the design team blogs for all the new release stuff each month!!

In honour of MFT I created a sweet card in the MFT colours of pink and black (with a little kraft thrown in just because I can).

I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added the Kraft along the bottom. I stitched around it and stamped a sentiment from Doodle Garden Sweet Friend using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

I stamped the girl with versamark ink onto Pink Lemonade and embossed her with white powder. I used a light pink marker to highlight the heart then covered it with glitter. The Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics were perfect for cutting out the pink circle.

I used the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics to cut out the Black Licorice flag then I stamped it with the dots from Large Scale Backgrounds using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink. I have no idea why the white ink appears blue in the picture, but it's really white in real life.

Thanks again My Favorite Things!!!

Ho Ho Ho {MFTWSC156}

Merry Christmas!!!

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 156.

Hop over to the MFT Blog for all the sketchy details and to link up your creation. You could win a gift certificate to the MFT Boutique just for playing along!

Since it's Christmas day, I couldn't resist making one last Christmas card for the year. This sketch lends itself to a clean and simple design, and I'm really happy with how my card turned out.

I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added some Sno Cone. At first I left the Sno Cone layer as just a plain card stock layer, but once I had the central elements in place it needed a little something, so I used the Polka Dot Cover-Up Die-namics to cut out the holes and I backed it with more Sno Cone for a tone on tone look that doesn't overpower the other elements.

I used Wild Cherry to anchor the elements and cut out the circle with the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics. I used the Insert It-Speech Bubble Die-namics to cut out the Kraft talk bubble and added a strip of Sweet Tooth for the horizontal element. I used the Negative Dot Alphabet Die-namics to cut out the "Ho Ho Ho" from Black Licorice card stock. Then I stamped the "Merry Christmas" sentiment from Starry Christmas using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

I wanted to add another element to help balance the card so I used the medium size snowflake from Let It Snowflake Die-namics to cut out the Sno Cone flake, then I topped it with a rhinestone for some bling.

Wishing you a delightful holiday season!!!

Sweet Sunday Reason to Smile

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC200.

Can you believe it?!? 200 hundred sketches! Wow!!! You'll want to hop over to Karen's blog because she has something special going on to celebrate the 200th Sweet Sunday Sketch.

I used the adorable Pure Innocence Little Shutterbug set from My Favorite Things for my card today. And I was in the mood for purple, so I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added a layer of Grape Jelly.

I stamped the girl from Pure Innocence Little Shutterbug onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloured her with copic markers. I fussy cut around her then mounted her with foam tape onto the Grapesicle oval which I cut out using the Pierced Oval STAX Die-namics.

I added a layer of Kraft behind the oval and stamped the sentiment using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. The Typewriter Text Background was perfect for adding pattern to the Sweet Tooth layer and I stamped it using Natural Premium Dye Ink.

At the top of the card I used the Fishtail Flags Layers STAX Die-namics to cut out the Grape Jelly flag then added two rhinestones for a touch of bling.

On the inside I stamped the girl again with Grapesicle Premium Dye Ink then added another sentiment from Pure Innocence Little Shutterbug.

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.
