Happy Birthday

Hooray it's Friday!!! Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend? It's Octoberfest here in Cincinnati (as I'm sure it is elsewhere too) so I'm sure we'll be partaking in the festivities in one way or another. My friend told me the event kicks off at noon today with a dog race downtown...Dachshunds dressed up as hot dogs running across the square. How cute is that!!! But I have a question for you. Why is a festival called Octoberfest held in September???? Things that make you go Hmmmm...

Anywhooo...my card has nothing to do with Octoberfest. Instead I have a sweet birthday card to share  that I made using Pure Innocence Birthday Girl from My Favorite Things.

I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added a layer of Razzle Berry and another layer of Sweet Tooth.

I stamped Pure Innocence Birthday Girl with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It Blending Card then coloured her with copic markers. I paper pieced her skirt with polka dot paper from the Echo Park Here & Now collection, then I fussy cut around her. I used the Pierced Rectangle STAX Die-namics to cut out the Pink Lemonade rectangle and adhered the girl with foam tape. The layout is Mojo311 (minus the bow because it just didn't work since I flipped the sketch).

For the horizontal strip I cut a piece of Berrylicious card stock to size then stamped it with Border It - Mod Borders using Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink. I used the Scallop Ribbon Die-namics to cut out the Lemon Drop scallop and the Rounded Banner Trio Die-namics to cut out the Razzle Berry half circle. I stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

On the inside I stamped the girl again with Razzle Berry Premium Dye Ink then added another sentiment from Pure Innocence Birthday Girl.

Have a wonderful weekend!

You Rock

There's a fun announcement over on the MFT blog...it might just be another fabulous designer to welcome to the My Favorite Things family...just saying...but you should go check it out.

I made this card to celebrate, using Document It - Rock On and the Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics. This is such a fun set of stamps and coordinating dies...perfect for so many occasions both masculine and feminine. I went with a pink and black theme and used Mojo286 for the layout.

I stamped the sentiment with Razzle Berry Premium Dye Ink onto Sweet Tooth card stock then added a row of clear rhinestones, which I coloured with my black copic marker. I used the Triple Scallop Border Die-namics to cut out the Razzle Berry border.

I used polka dot paper from the Echo Park Dots and Stripes collection to create the flag element, cutting it out with the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics. Then I used the Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics to cut out the Black Licorice star and the Kraft guitar (with a Razzle Berry accent). I added glitter dots to the star for a little more bling (it is rock and roll after all!).

MFTeaser - You + Me

Welcome to day two of seven fabulous days of MFT teasers!

My card today uses both of Laina Lambs new sets, Document It - Off the Chart and Journal It - For the Record, along with the new Accent It - Labels and Tags Die-namics.

I started with a card base of Whip Cream then added a layer of Steel Grey and patterned paper from the Bo Bunny Love Letters collection. The layout started out as Mojo272, but I deviated a little with the ribbon placement.

I cut out a rectangle of Kraft cardstock and embossed it with my polka dots embossing folder. Then I used the Accent It - Labels and Tags Die-namics to cut out the Berrylicious, Bubblegum, and Whip Cream cardstocks for the main part of the focal panel. I stamped the "you" and "me" from Document It - Off the Chart with Wild Cherry ink. The plus sign is also from the same set, and I used the smallest size of the Hearts STAX Die-namics to cut out the Wild Cherry Heart.

The word "complete" is part of a sentiment from Journal It - For the Record. I used the Rustic Hearts Die-namics to cut out the patterned paper heart then added a Berrylicious button tied with Hemp Cord. I added a strip of Wild Cherry grosgrain ribbon underneath the Kraft panel then I used the new Keys and Locks Die-namics to cut out the Steel Grey lock and key, and tucked them under the button.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from Document It - Off the Chart and used the Boy Meets Girl Die-namics to cut out the little Kraft people.
