Today I made a fun card using this month's Free with $60 stamp set, Sending Thanks. The Free with $60 set changes with each release, and, in case you hadn't guessed yet, you'll receive it FREE with a qualifying $60 order. Oh, and I used the new Plaid Builder Background too!
All the new products will be available in the MFT Boutique on August 6th at 10pm EDT. Hop over to the MFT Blog for more details and for the amazing PRIZE info!
I started with a card base of Primitive Cream then I added a layer of the new Brick Red. Love this colour! Then I used the Plaid Builder Background to actually create some plaid...what a novel idea! I've used it for stripe, lines and diagonals, but this is the first time I used it for plaid. I built the plaid pattern on a piece of Kraft card stock. I used Fuse Green Premium Dye Ink, Kraft Premium Dye Ink, Whip Cream Pigment Ink and Brick Red Premium Dye Ink. When the plaid was all done though, I felt like the Brick Red stripes were a little too "in your face" and stood out more than I wanted, so I stamped over them with Whip Cream Pigment Ink to tone them down. The layout is DS112.
I stamped the 'THANKS' from Sending Thanks with Kraft Premium Dye Ink onto a rectangle of Primitive Cream, then I stamped the second part of the sentiment with Brick Red Premium Dye Ink.
I used a rectangle of Fuse Green card stock for the other layer and stamped it with polka dots from Darling Dots using Whip Cream Pigment Ink. I used my favorite flower die, Pretty Posies Die-namics, to cut out the corrugated cardboard flower and topped it with a Brick Red button tied with Hemp Cord.
On the inside I stamped another sentiment from Sending Thanks with Brick Red Premium Dye Ink and added the chevron elements with Kraft Premium Dye Ink.
You'll find more information on the MFT Blog, along with a list of today's participating designers.
