Sending Smiles

My card today was created for the Love Fest day 10 challenge "In Love with Colour",  to use a colour combo of aqua, brown and yellow. The layout is FTL229 from the Clean and Simple blog.

I pulled out supplies from My Favorite Things, including the stamp set, Inspired By Up, Up and Away. I started with a  card base of Whip Cream then added a layer of Blu Raspberry and another layer of Whip Cream.

For the main panel I cut a piece of Kraft cardstock to size then used the Postage Border Die-namics to cut out the Hot Fudge strip along the bottom. I used the Up, Up and Away Die-namics to cut out the two balloons from Whip Cream cardstock then I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured them with copic markers. I popped the smaller balloon on foam tape for dimension.

Then I stamped the sentiment using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. The space above the sentiment was too empty so I used the Flat-Bottom Cloud Die-namics to cut out a piece of text paper from the Authentique Summer collection.

On the inside I stamped the large balloon again then added another sentiment from Inspired By Up, Up and Away.

You still have until Feb 28th at noon to upload any Love Fest creations to Splitcoast in order to be eligible for the fabulous prizes. Here's a link to the main Love Fest thread with all the challenges.

Thank You

The Love Fest Challenges at Splitcoast have been keeping me busy over the past week, and I haven't even shown you everything I created yet.

My card today is for the day 6 Inspiration Challenge sponsored by The Cat's Pajamas. I decided to go very clean and simple and used a sentiment from the Simply Said stamp set.

I started with a card base of Sweet Tooth cardstock then chose patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Breeze collection. I was inspired by not only the colours in the inspiration photo, but also the hexagon tiles, so I used my Open Hexagon Borders Die-namics to cut out the hexagons from both Black Licorice and patterned paper. I added a little texture to the bottom of the card by running it through my modern wallpaper embossing folder before adhering the hexagons.

I created the flower by cutting out the yellow patterned paper using the Plentiful Petals Die-namics. The flower center is cut from Steel Grey and I added a Sweet Tooth button to finish it off. The simple 'thank you' sentiment was stamped with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

Friend - Definition

I have another card for the Love Fest Member Challenges going on at Splitcoast. The last challenge is today, but you have until Feb 28th at Noon Central time to upload your creations to Splitcoast to be eligible for the amazing prizes. Seriously...go check it out HERE.

This is for the day 5 Die Crazy challenge. I used several Die-namics in the creation of this card, and just a little stamping.

I started by choosing the stamp set, Own Your Story, from My Favorite Things. Then I picked the patterned papers, Authentique Hope collection. Next I found a sketch, Cardabilities #69. Then I set to work creating. The card base is Whip Cream followed by a layer of Kraft, then patterned paper. I used the Decorative Doily Die-namics to cut out the Snow Cone doily and used the Leaf-Filled Flourish Die-namics to cut out the Whip Cream flourish.

I wanted to use the friend definition stamp and I wanted it to look like it was torn from a notebook, so I used the Insert It - Notebook Paper Die-namics to cut out the the main Kraft panel. Then I stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink, but the panel was a little too long so I placed it back into the die and cut off the bottom in order to shorten it. I stamped the flourish in the top right corner of the sentiment panel and also along the bottom of the base layer using Kraft Premium Dye Ink.

I used the Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics to cut out the patterned paper and create this gorgeous bloom. I added a pearl to the center and a loopy Hemp Cord bow behind it. You'll find my tutorial on how to make a loopy Hemp Cord bow by clicking this link.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from Own Your Story and added two more flourishes stamped with Sno Cone Premium Dye Ink.
