Hello {MFTWSC109}

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 109.

I flipped this week's sketch because I really wanted to use the brand new Trellis and Vine Die-namics, which is part of the MFT February release and will be available for purchase on Feb 4th.

I started with a card base of Sweet Tooth then added a layer of Kraft and Grapesicle. I ran the Grapesicle layer through my swiss dots embossing folder then added a green patterned paper from the Lilybee Design Picket Fence collection.

I used the Trellis and Vine Die-namics to cut out the Sweet Tooth trellis then cut the vines from Kraft cardstock. The flowers were cut from Grape Jelly cardstock and the leaves from Sour Apple. I added some clear rhinestones to the center of each flower for a little sparkle.

For the horizontal element I used the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics to cut out the Sweet Tooth flag then stamped the sentiment from Finishing Flourishes using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. I wanted another pop of purple so I used the Sentiment Strips Die-namics to cut out the Grape Jelly flag. I didn't want the purple to show through the trellis though so I cut out the middle and only used the ends of the flag.

TIP: The Sweet Tooth fishtail flag wasn't long enough to reach across the card and cut the other end into a flag so I simply cut out two flags and had them meet behind the left side of the trellis where the joint wouldn't show.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from Finishing Flourishes using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

There's a prize each week for one participant, chosen at random. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week a keyword is assigned to the sketch, and this week's keyword is MFTWSC109. All you need to do to enter is upload your card to the gallery at Splitcoast and enter the given keyword in the keyword box during the upload process. After the deadline (noon Eastern on Tuesday) we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher!

Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog to view the entire list of design team participants...there's plenty of inspiration for you with today’s sketch!

MFTeaser - Overdue

Welcome to day two of seven fabulous days of MFT teasers!

Today I used two new stamp sets from Laina Lamb Design, Journal It - Library Card and Document It - Right this Way, to create this fun, masculine, unconventional, belated birthday card. There's also a coordinating Insert It - 3x4 Pocket Die-namics that I've used on my card.

I started with a card base of Sweet Tooth then added a layer of Kraft cardstock. The patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye Out of the Blue collection. I added a Red Hot flag in the background using the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics.

For the focal point of the card I used the previously released Insert It - 3x4 Insert Die-namics to cut out the navy rectangle, and also for the Sweet Tooth library card. I stamped the library card with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. I cut the Kraft pocket using the Insert It - 3x4 Pocket Die-namics then stamped "check it out" from Document It - Right this Way using Kraft Premium Dye Ink. I used one of the arrows from Lead the Way Die-namics to cut out the blue patterned arrow then used the new Button Border Die-namics to cut out the yellow button. I tied it with Hemp Cord.

I had fun adding all the elements to the library card. I stamped elements from both Journal It - Library Card and Document It - Right this Way using Kraft Premium Dye Ink, Wild Cherry Premium Dye Ink, and Sno Cone Premium Dye Ink. The "happy birthday" sentiment is from the Let's Toast stamp set and I used Memento Nautical Blue ink to stamp it onto the library card.

On the inside I added another sentiment from Let's Toast using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink, and stamped a few more elements from Document It - Right this Way.

MFTeaser - Easter

Welcome to day one of seven fabulous days of MFT teasers!

Today I have a sweet Easter card to share using Lisa Johnson Designs Embellished Eggs stamp set and the coordinating Easter Elements Die-namics. This set is full of sweet spring and Easter images.

I started with a card base of Sweet Tooth cardstock then added a layer of Razzle Berry. The pink patterned paper is from the Echo Park Springtime collection. Check out the gorgeous new Lattice Fence Die-namics...swoon!

I had fun creating this little scene and I have a funny story about the grass. So I cut out the five layers of grass from Sour Apple cardstock and glued them all down, finished the card with the other elements and took all my photographs. Then as I was typing up this post I pulled out the die I used to cut the grass (just to confirm the name which I have written on the back of each of my dies) and I realized I used the Icicle Border Die-namics instead of the Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics. Doh!!! Shall we just say the grass was recently mowed so it's nice and short and standing up straight? LOL! Ok, back to the other elements on my card. I used the egg from Easter Elements Die-namics to cut out the Kraft egg then stamped it with Versamagic Turquoise Gem.

I cut out the rest of the Easter Elements Die-namics from Sweet Tooth cardstock then pulled out my Lemon Drop Premium Dye Ink Pad and my Razzle Berry Premium Dye Ink Pad to stamp the birds, their wings, and the flower. I added a rhinestone to the center of the flower then coloured it with my RV09 copic marker. I used the Flat-Bottom Clouds Die-namics to cut out the Sweet Tooth felt cloud.

On the inside I stamped one of the sentiments from Embellished Eggs with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink and added a flower trio for a little pop of colour.
