MFTeaser - Who's That Girl Gets Cozy with Cocoa

Welcome to day one of seven fabulous days of MFT teasers.

Today we're showcasing the new Who's That Girl Gets Cozy with Cocoa set.

You may have seen her a couple weeks back when the VIP collection was available, and in case you missed out, this is your chance to pick up this cutie! She's perfect for wonderful winter cards.

I paper pieced the image with one of the patterns from the My Mind's Eye Be Merry 6x6 pad then just stuck with a red, white and blue colour palette. There's a little intricate cutting that I did with my craft knife, but it's super fun to 'dress' her in different sweaters. I used the open scallop doily duo die-namics to cut out the red circle mat behind the image.

I used the new Loopy Bloom die-namic to create this flower but I didn't follow the intended use, and as you can see, the outcome is quite different.

On the inside I used the new Wonky Scallop Border die-namic on both the front and the inside of the card, and stamped another sentiment from the set on the inside.

Here are the details about the upcoming release on November 1 at 10 PM EST:
  • You can attend the New Release Party on November 1st from 8-10 PM EST HERE in the MFT forum, where you can enjoy fun, games, and PRIZES!

It's a Holiday Hoopla Blog Hop!!!

Taylored Expressions is hosting a Holiday Hoopla today and I'm excited to be a part of it. There are 22 designers showcasing Christmas/Winter/Holiday stamps sets from TE with samples that include all sorts of projects from cards to gifts and beyond!  We want to inspire you to get your holiday crafting and card making into high gear!  Be sure to stick with me all the way to the end of the post to get a coupon code for 25% off holiday stamp sets at Taylored Expressions!

The set I'm showcasing is Woodland Winter and I love it because the little critters are so cute and there are endless combinations for intricate or simple cards!

With Christmas less than nine weeks away (eeks!), it's time to get going on all your crafty holiday projects. I'm still on my card-making kick so I created a set of four sweet holiday cards using the super cute Woodland Winter set. I seriously can not get enough of this set!!!

I created a simple set of four single layer cards...sort of. Ok, they started as single layer cards but I really wanted to add the "snow" at the bottom, then a little scallop detail at the top. I think they still qualify as single layer though...right?

The big message here is these cards were quick and easy!! I stamped the trees with Memento Tuxedo Black onto kraft card stock and added a hint of colour with copic markers. Then I stamped the owl onto choice buttercream, coloured him and cut him out. I added a little bling to his hat.

The papers are all from the 12 Days of Christmas Project Pantry and I used my medium scallop border die to cut out the red strip. For the sentiment tag I started by cutting out the green piece with one of the dies from Totally Tags. Then I stamped the sentiment in black ink. The tag was a little too long for the sentiment so I just chopped off the bottom using my paper trimmer. I wrapped up these cards with some red twine.

Creating for this hop caused to me to go back and look at some of my previous creations and I wanted to share one of those with you today too. Here's my Warm Winter Wishes card using the sweet Penguin Pals set. I adore the non-traditional pink and blue in this card.

Are you getting in the mood to stamp?  Be sure to check out Taylor's 12 Days of A Handmade Christmas Video Series for lots of easy gift ideas. I especially love ....

Now, who loves a SALE?  Use Coupon Code HOOPLA2011 to get 25% off the following holiday stamp sets (released in 2009 and 2010) at Taylored Expressions now through November 2:

Sweet Sunday Birthday

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC140.

This sketch through me for a loop at first, but then I remembered some of the small die-namics from MFT and decided to make a birthday card.

I used the cute little cupcake die from the Bon Appetit stamps and die-namics set along with the birthday sentiment from More Essential Sentiments. I also used the small scallop border die-namic to cut out the white strip. The patterned papers are all from the Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky pad by My Mind's Eye.

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.

Fight for a Cure {MFTWSC42}

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 42.

This is another fun sketch with plenty of layers to play with.

I took a little creative liberty with the square element and created a blingy frame to highlight the fun à la mode-Fight Like a Girl. Because of the bling, this card qualifies for the Bling your Cling challenge in the Hope You Can Cling to forum over at Splitcoast. So many challenges for such a great cause = FUN!

She's stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with copics. I stamped the image a second time so I could cut out the gloves and pop them on foam boosters for a little dimension.

The patterned paper is from the Victoria Garden 6x6 pad by Echo Park. The ticket tab die-namic (love all the tab die-namics!) was perfect for the sentiment and I used the little open scallop border die-namic to create the green strips along either side of the polka dot ribbon.

I kept the inside very simple, just stamping the image in pink and another sentiment in black.

Here are all the sketchy details:

There's a prize each week for one participant, chosen at random. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week a keyword is assigned to the sketch, and this week's keyword is MFTWSC42. All you need to do to enter is upload your card to the gallery at Splitcoast and enter the given keyword in the keyword box during the upload process. After the deadline (noon Eastern on Tuesday) we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. Be sure to start the WTG VIP New Product Tour at Kim's blog so you don't miss a thing!

I created a very fun card with the WTG Get's Cozy with Cocoa images and a couple of sentiments from the Cozy with Cocoa sentiments mini.

I know you're oogling at that gorgeous flower so I'll start with it. Is it not insanely amazing?!?!? MFT already has the most incredible flower dies, but the Loopy Bloom die-namic tops them all! The dimension on this flower is insane and it's sooooo easy to create. I used pink felt to give my flower extra oomph and added some leaves using the upsy daisy die-namics.

The image is done with a combination of paper piecing and colouring with copic markers. I even added a teeny tiny bit of white liquid appliqué to the marshmallows! The patterned papers are from the Jillibean Soup Christmas Eve Chowder 6x6 pad.

I used the bracket tab die-namic for the sentiment on the front of the card and added a row of bling to help draw attention to it. Then I used the open bracket border die-namic for the strip along the right edge. The layout is Mojo209.

On the inside I paper pieced the big mug of cocoa that comes in the WTG Get's Cozy with Cocoa set then stamped another sentiment from the Cozy with Cocoa sentiments mini.

Hurry over the the MFT Boutique and pick up your Who's That Girl VIP Collection now, before they're all sold out!

Sweet Sunday Snow

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC139.

After last week's sketch, this one seemed like a complete breeze! I got back on the Christmas card wagon for this week's sketch and pulled out my new Snow à la carte stamp from Taylored Expressions. This is definitely a perfect stamp for whipping up quick and easy cards. This is card #24 for Project Christmas 2011.

The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Buttercream and coloured with copics. I added sparkle to the letters with my red Spica glitter pen.

The patterned paper is from the Season's Greetings 6x6 pad by Echo Park. I used my medium scallop border die to cut out the red strip and used some red patterned paper and the pennant die to create the corner detail.

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.

Take Off, eh!

I've had this Take Off set from The Cat's Pajamas since it was released and it had yet to see any ink, so I pulled it out and played along with the TCP Tuesday sketch challenge, TCPTUES180.

The sketch was a little intimidating with that big 'ole star, but I just treated it like any other layer and I love how my card came together. This little guy is SO cute!!! I love that his ears are practically bigger than the plane!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto choice buttercream and coloured it with copics. I paper pieced the airplane with two patterns from the Blink of an Eye collection by My Mind's Eye. I added a couple coats of clear glaze pen to his goggles and a rhinestone swirl coming out of the exhaust pipe. I cut out the row of clouds using the cloud border die then stitched them in place. I gotta say, my little Janome Sew Mini did not like going through that many layers of card stock! LOL!

Someone You Love {MFTWSC41}

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 41.

I needed a sympathy card recently so I reached for my Clearly Sentimental about Sympathy set. This is definitely a must-have set. It's one you hope you never have to use, but it has the most beautiful sentiments when you do need to use it.

I kept the colour palette soft and use patterned paper from the Lost & Found Market Street paper pad. I used several die-namics to add detail: layered labels (for the sentiment), mini rolled roses, and faux crochet border.

I added another sentiment on the inside and a couple of hearts cut out with the hearts a plenty and notched tag die-namics.

Here are all the sketchy details:

There's a prize each week for one participant, chosen at random. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week a keyword is assigned to the sketch, and this week's keyword is MFTWSC41. All you need to do to enter is upload your card to the gallery at Splitcoast and enter the given keyword in the keyword box during the upload process.
