Miss You a Latte

Happy Tuesday!!! I had some stamp time yesterday afternoon so I thought I'd play along with the current Wednesday Stamp Club challenge for My Favourite Things...it's a sketch! I {{{heart}}}sketches!!!

I inked up my sweet Miss You a Latte A-la-mode. This line of stamps is so cute and fresh, and seriously, who wouldn't love to carry around gallons of lattes like these! LOL!!! She's stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White and coloured with copics. I added some shimmer to her shirt and hair band with my turquoise Spica glitter pen. The patterned papers are all from my new MME Fine & Dandy True Blue paper pad...swoon!!! I used my flower trio die-namic on some cork and orange cardstock to create the flower embellishment and my scalloped scallop die-namic adds the fun edge to the two vertical panels.

Welcome Little One

A friend of mine needed a boy's baby card so of course I volunteered! I love making cards, but I really really REALLY enjoy it when the card I'm making actually has a purpose. Don't get me wrong...my cards don't go to waste...I do use them or gift them, but I like it when I can design for a specific event/person. :)

My favourite baby card is the onesie...SO cute and absolutely perfect for either a boy or a girl. So that's what I created...a darling little blue onesie. I don't recall where I first saw this card and I didn't use a template to create mine, just made a few cuts and punched out a few circles.

The card base is island mist light and I paired it with circles of Choice Buttercream. The teddy image is from my Hangin' Out set by Taylored Expressions. He's stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Buttercream, coloured with copic markers and cut out. I gave his tummy a plaid look with my colourless blender. I debated layering him onto another colour but I think simplicity is this card's best friend. I did pop him on foam tape though for a little dimension, then I added three buttons for the "snap closures". I stamped the sentiment "welcome little one" on the inside of the card but forgot to photograph that part before I gave it away!

Sweet Sunday Hugs

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSS92. You'll find the sketch on Karen Giron's blog The Sweetest Thing.

I was very excited when I saw this layout because right away I knew I'd be using my lacey squares Nestabilities (for the first time...). Woo Hoo!!! LOVE them!!! Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself...I'll start at the beginning of the card.

I looked through my stash of MFT stamps (newly rearranged and organized by my BFF Dana while she was here visiting...thanks Day!) and decided to use Bunch of Blooms from the Pure Innocence line. She's so adorable holding the little bouquet of flowers and I know just the person I'm going to send this to...someone who needs a little something to make them smile these days. I stamped the PI girls with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White and coloured her with copics. I added sparkle with pink and red spica glitter pens then adhered a few crystal Twinkles. The patterned paper is from my Basic Grey Urban Pairie 6x6 pad...I still love this paper but it was at the bottom of the pile and I'd forgotten about it. My paper's all been rearranged though (thanks again to Dana...isn't she THE best!?!).

I used my jumbo scallop die-namic on some intense kiwi then pleated yellow satin ribbon overtop. The flower accent is a combination of felt and cardstock cut out with the flower trio die-namic. I deviated a little from the sketch with the green strip but I'd already sewn together the pink and lacey Nesties layers before I realized the horizontal strip was supposed to be between them...doh!

Taylored Expressions Release Day!!!

After three days of sneak peeks the new stamps and dies are now available at Taylored Expressions. But we couldn't let you go shopping without a little more inspiration, so today on the Baker's Dozen blogs you'll see a recap of the new sets.

I'm using What's Cookin' for my card today and the layout is from the Clean & Simple blog, FTL113.

I started by stamping the oven mitt, measuring spoons and butter dish with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Buttercream then coloured them with copics. I used the coordinating Kitchen Accessories Dies to cut out the oven mitt and measuring spoons then I hand cut the butter dish. The patterned paper is from my October Afternoon Farm Fresh pad and the solid cardstocks are suede brown medium, blush red dark, intense kiwi, sunflowers medium. I used my scalloped eyelet border die on the green strip then stitched the top. The card needed a little bling so I coloured some clear Kaisercraft rhinestones with my R29 copic marker and added them beside the sentiment.

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 3-Enjoy

It's time for more sneak peeks from Taylored Expressions! The new stamps will be available in the TE Store starting tomorrow, Thursday, November 4th at 11am EST.

I know you're going to enjoy today's sneaks...cause the Baker's Dozen is sharing gift card packaging ideas with the set Enjoy, another addition to the Whimsical Wishes line, illustrated by Nancy McKinney. This new set is full of images that cover just about every gift card type and there's also a coordinating Gift Card Frame die. I didn't just use the die to frame a gift card though, I used it to cut out the patterned papers to fit the top and insides of my small hinged tin...it's THE perfect size to house gift cards!!!

I started by stamping the boutique image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White and coloured it with copic markers. I punched it out with my 1 3/4" circle punch then layered it onto a circle of suede brown dark.

I used my Gift Card Frame die on the pink patterned paper (part of the KI Memories Paisley Parade collection) for the lid and also on the green patterned paper for the inside of the tin...doesn't it coordinate perfectly with the DSW gift card?!? It's almost like I planned that...wink! I added some pleated apple green polka dot ribbon and stitched around the edge of the lid for a little more interest before adding the three Crystal Twinkles. I just love love LOVE how this turned out and it came together so quickly too!!

I can't wait to see all the other fab ideas the Baker's Dozen came up with using Enjoy and the Gift Card Frame die. Let's go hopping, shall we?

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 2-From the Heart

Today is another day of sneak peeks at Taylored Expressions. The new stamps will be available in the TE Store starting Thursday, November 4th.

We're sharing a little something From the Heart with you...all kinds of fun images and From the Heart Funnies to coordinate, along with a fabulous coordinating From the Heart Frame die...delish!!!

I decided to use the percolator image and paired it with a big ol' bag of coffee beans. Wouldn't you love to receive a gift like this? It'll keep perking you up for days!!! (sorry...just couldn't resist that one!). Actually though, Perk Up! is one of the sentiment in From the Heart Funnies but I couldn't seem to find space to fit it into my project today.

I stamped the percolator with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White and coloured it with copics then cut it out. Next I stamped the round sentiment onto one of the patterned papers from KI Memories Paisley Parade and punched it out with my 1 3/4" circle punch. Then I layered everything onto some suede brown dark that I cut out with the new From the Heart Frame die. I pierced around the orange circle and added two Tiny Twinkles for some sparkle. The green borders are punched with my deco scallop border punch then I added some stitching and caribbean satin ribbon. The layout for the card is TESC132.

For the belly band on the coffee bag I simply replicated the card layout, minus a few details, and adhered it directly to the bag of beans. Quick, easy and so much prettier than the coffee label that was on the bag.

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 1-What's Cookin'

Let the sneak peeks begin!!! The new stamps will be available at Taylored Expressions starting Thursday, November 4th. Today the Baker's Dozen is sharing samples with the fun new set What's Cookin', the newest set in the Whimsical Wishes line.

I used Mercy's sketch challenge, MTSC97 for the layout and let the mixer take center stage on my card. My BFF Dana is here visiting...she loves pumpkin and is a great baker (and tall & skinny too) so I made my mixer orange in her honour.  :-)

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White and coloured it with copic markers. I added a little sparkle with an orange Spica glitter pen then cut it out with rectangle Nestabilities. The patterned paper is from the Doodlebug Bon Appetit collection. I used my fabulous scalloped eyelet border die on some intense kiwi cardstock then added a little stitching and some fun ribbon from my stash to finish the details on this card.

Sweet Sunday Good Witch

Happy Halloween!!! It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC91. You'll find the sketch on Karen Giron's blog The Sweetest Thing.

I couldn't resist one last Halloween card given that today is the big Trick or Treating day!!! So I pulled out my Punchy Potions set from Taylored Expressions. I just love these sassy witch's legs with her cute spider web skirt!!!

She's stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White and coloured with copics. I added some sparkle to the dots around the image with my pitch black Spica glitter pen and used my black glaze pen on the spider web centers on her skirt. The image is cut out with oval Nestabilities and layered on a scalloped oval of black. I didn't use any patterned papers on this card...shocking!!! I know!!! I still can't believe it!! LOL!!! I stuck with traditional Halloween colours though and I love the result. I used my MS spider web punch on the orchid opulence and tied it all up with some orange glimmer twill and a black button.

Sparkly Snowman

I wanted to make a card using the adorable snowman from Hangin' Out At the North Pole, which is available at Taylored Expressions. I just love the way he's looking to the sky like he's waiting for a big snow storm. Now don't get me wrong though...I'm not looking for a snow storm, at least not yet, although I am looking forward to ski season!

I used SSS78 from the Sweet Stop Sketch blog for the layout and it was a "sketch with a spin", to make it sparkly. I stamped the snowman with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Buttercream and coloured it with copics. Then I used my Take Note Die 3 to cut him out. I also used my Winter Wonderland snowflake dies and coordinating Winter Wonderland stamp set to create the snowflake accent. The red snowflake is cut out of felt. For the sparkle I coated the snowman with glue and covered him with glitter...sooooo sparkly IRL!!! He actually kinda reminds me of Edward in the Twilight scene when he shows Bella how he sparkles in the sunshine!  Hee Hee!!  :)

Scooter Birthday

Today I'm playing along with the sketch on Card Positioning System and Taylored Expressions is sponsoring the sketch this week! Hopefully you'll find a little time to play along for a chance to win a fabulous prize from the TE Store...just don't forget to link your creation on the CPS blog.

I have a few fall birthdays to make cards for so I pulled out my In The Kitchen Project Pantry and paired it with Feelin' Groovy. I just love the retro images in this set!!! I stamped the scooter with Memento Tuxedo Black and paper pieced the blue part. I coloured the rest with copic markers and added sparkle with an orange Spica glitter pen and some orange Tiny Twinkles.

I used my awesome scalloped eyelet border die on the orange layer then added more Tiny Twinkles inside each circle...the perfect amount of sparkle IMHO. The coordinating green ribbon is from the In The Kitchen Project Pantry and I topped it with a stamped flower. I really love the fall feel of this card...and it's groovy and cool at the same time!  :-)
