MFTeaser - Dream and Chill Out

Welcome to day one of seven fabulous days of MFT teasers!!

I have lots to share in today's post so let's get to it. First up is this pretty card which I created with the new My Favorite Sentiments set.

I used fun new papers from the Echo Park Hello Summer 6x6 paper pad, paired with Pink Lemonade, Sour Apple, Razzleberry, yellow and white card stocks. For the main panel I inked the sentiment with Memento Rose Bud and Memento Bamboo Leaves, then used a black SU marker to ink the middle line. I love the shape of the new Designer Labels 3 STAX Die-namics and the Jumbo Squiggle Border Die-namics cut from Sour Apple card stock is perfect under the main panel.

Look at this gorgeous new flower which I created thanks to the new Plentiful Petals Die-namics...swoon! I cut the smallest size from Razzleberry card stock and Bubblegum felt then topped it with a fun Pretty Girl Cozy Brad from Buttons Galore & More. A green Fancy Flourish is tucked under the flower. The card layout is sketch #53 from the Cardabilities blog.

MFT has a great offer for you regarding the amazing My Favorite Sentiments set. Check out the details...
MFT is so excited to celebrate our 6th birthday this month! It's been our pleasure serving you and we look forward to many more years to come. In honour of the celebration, we have a special offer for you. From July 3rd through July 31st we're offering the My Favorite Sentiments stamp set at the bargain price of just $6 (retail value of $17.95). The stamp set is a graphic collection of sentiments inspired by you, our valued MFT fans. *one set per customer, while supplies last, no rain checks

Happy 6th birthday MFT!!!

Here's the entire set. I just looooove how graphic the sentiments are!!!

Next up is the new Who's That Girl? Straight from the Carton. Don't know about you, but I love ice cream so I can totally relate to her. And I love sitting that way in a big comfy chair too!

I used the Jumbo Squiggle Border Die-namics to cut out the Pink Lemonade strip and added some Hot Fudge grosgrain ribbon. The new Sentiment Strips Die-namics (it's a set of four different shapes) was perfect for cutting out the strip for "Chill Out" then I cut off one end and stitched it in place to the Orange Fizz layer.

I did lots and lots and lots of layers of paper piecing on this image. I really should have taken pictures of my layers before I glued it all together, but I didn't, so I'll tuck that idea away for another time. All the papers are from the Echo Park Hello Summer paper pad again. The layout is Freshly Made Sketch #19.

On the inside I used the Jumbo Squiggle Border Die-namics again and stamped another sentiment from Who's That Girl? Straight from the Carton.

Thank You DOC

The MFT Guest Designer Contest is on now, and it's a sketch this month. So I thought I'd play along and give a little inspiration in case you're on the fence about participating (which you should definitely hop off and start stamping because the prize is A-mazing!!!). Read all the details of the Guest Designer Contest in this thread.

I used Pure Innocence World's Best Doctor to create this masculine thank you card. I received some new goodies from I {heart} Papers and I dug into the October Afternoon 9 to 5 patterned paper right away.

I paper pieced the doctor's lab coat. I know they're not usually so colourful, but this is stampy world and I can make things any colour I want, right? The rest of the image was coloured with copic markers. I used the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics to cut out the cream flag for the sentiment. I embellished it with a Sour Apple star which I cut out using the Stacking Stars Die-namics, along with a yellow button and some Honey Dew twine. I used my diamond plate embossing folder to add texture to the blue polka dot paper then sanded it a little to reveal the white core.

The banners were fun to create using a combination of patterned paper, Orange Fizz, and Sour Apple card stocks, along with the Mix & Match Banners Die-namics, the Circle 2 STAX Die-namics, and the By the Letters Uppercase Die-namics. The base layer is Blue Raspberry card stock.

I hope you'll take the challenge and get stamping with this sketch. But hurry, time will run out in about a week.

Special Person

I have a pretty card to share today, which I made using a sketch from the Clean & Simple blog, FTL194. I know it doesn't look like a typical CAS card, but I love how it turned out.

I needed an anniversary card for friends so I pulled out Clearly Sentimental About Anniversaries, from My Favorite Things. This couple loves to laugh and joke with each other so I think the sentiment on the front of the card is perfect for them.

I used patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye A Beautiful Life paper pad and paired them with Fossil, Jellybean Green, perfect plum, and cream card stocks. I used the Simply Scallops Large Die-namics to cut out the Fossil scallop layer and topped it with some Orchid twine. The main panel layers were cut out using the Rectangle 1 STAX and Rectangle 2 STAX Die-namics.

For the flower I used Prima Donna Petals Die-namics and cut the larger flower from patterned paper, then cut the inside flower from Wisteria felt. I recently received a slew of buttons from Buttons Galore and More and I chose a Sunflower button for the flower center.

On the inside I simply stamped "Happy Anniversary" and added a polka dot strip which I cut out with the Small Scallop Border Die-namics.

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 77.

I made a masculine birthday card with this week's sketch. I'm finding it easier and easier (and much more enjoyable) to create masculine cards with all the fabulous manly Die-namics from MFT. Thanks MFT!!

I used You Move Me stamps and Die-namics for the main sentiment panel and cut the airplane out of Lemon Drop card stock. The middle size of the Cloud Trio Die-namics was perfect to cut out the Puff Cloud White felt. Of course, every airplane looks good flying over a skyline, so I used the Skyline Border Die-namics to cut out the blue patterned paper and added some Lemon Drop grosgrain ribbon below it. I used the Chevron Stripes Die-namics to cut out the striped paper  and added a blue corduroy button for another masculine touch. The base card stock layers are Orange Fizz and Berrylicious, and the patterned paper is Echo Park A Boy's Life.

On the inside I combined two sentiments from Big Greetings and used the Postage Stamp Border Die-namics to cut out the Lemon Drop strip above the airplane paper.

Here are all the sketchy details:

There's a prize each week for one participant, chosen at random. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week a keyword is assigned to the sketch, and this week's keyword is MFTWSC77. All you need to do to enter is upload your card to the gallery at Splitcoast and enter the given keyword in the keyword box during the upload process. After the deadline (noon Eastern on Tuesday) we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher!
Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog to view the entire list of design team participants...there's plenty of inspiration for you with today’s sketch!
