New Crafter's Workshop at Taylored Expressions

Today the Baker's Dozen is showcasing the new Crafter's Workshop Stencils that are available at Taylored Expressions. These 6x6 plastic stencils are available in a wide variety of patterns/images and the creative possibilities with Crafter's Workshop Stencils is virtually unlimited! I'm sure you'll see several different applications on the hop.

Heck, once I got playing I just couldn't stop and I have four different cards to share today! So, without further delay, let's jump right into the cards. I have a photo tutorial for two of the techniques at the end of this post.

I chose to work with the Flurries template...I know I know...big surprise I'd choose the winter themed template! Hey, I'll take any excuse to get some Christmas cards made...LOL! To keep things simple I used the same layout on all four cards and all the patterned paper strips are from October Afternoon's Good Cheer 8x8 pad.

This first card uses the Joy image from Wings of Joy.

I used the Flurries template to create the background by simply using my foam brayer to apply Versamark ink.

On the Let It Snow card I took the Versamark technique one step further and used a sweet Cuppie image and sentiment from Home Sweet Home.

After applying the Versamark I covered it with Heat & Stick powder, heated it with my embossing gun then sprinkled glitter all over it. Presto...super sparkly snowflake background!

Next I used the Flurries template with some translucent embossing paste by Dreamweavers and another darling Cuppie and sentiment from Home Sweet Home.

The translucent embossing paste dries clear so it looks like clear embossing powder, which you could also use with the Versamark...hmmm...why didn't I think of that earlier?!?

Then after using blue for three cards I had a lightbulb moment I decided to try snowflakes with pink! I used cuppie from Season's Sweetings along with white embossing paste.

I love how well the white snowflakes show up on the pink background.

And look at the dimension you get from the white embossing paste!

Now for a couple of picture tutorials. The first one is the Versamark/glitter technique. I started by taping my cardstock to my work surface then I taped the template in place so it wouldn't move.

Apply Versamark ink to the Flurries template using the foam brayer. Be sure to use enough pressure and roll in every direction to ensure full coverage in all the small nooks.

Next sprinkle on the Heat & Stick powder, tap off excess and heat with embossing tool

Finally, coat everything with glitter, tap off excess and give it a quick heat with the embossing tool again to set the glitter.

Now the tutorial using Translucent embossing paste.
Start again by taping everything down to your work surface.

The embossing paste is similar to icing and I used the back of my offset spatula to apply it to the stencil.

Be sure to apply a smooth, even layer of embossing paste.

Remove the stencil and set the cardstock aside to dry for a couple of hours.

I told you I had fun with the Crafter's Workshop stencil!!! Now let's go see what the other Baker's Dozen gals cooked up with their stencils.
