I needed an encouragement card recently for one of the ladies where I volunteer, so I reached for Vertical Greetings and chose one of the inspiring sentiments. I flipped the sketch on it's side to accommodate the sentiment.
I started with a card base of Whip Cream then added a layer of Sno Cone. I ran the Kraft layer through my swiss dots embossing folder before stitching it in place. The patterned papers are from the October Afternoon Sidewalks collection.
I used the Rectangle 1 STAX Die-namics to cut out the Whip Cream panel for the sentiment, which I stamped with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. I highlighted the word "strong" with a swipe of my R32 copic marker.
For the embellishment on the floral panel, I first added a strip of Kraft grosgrain ribbon. Then I created a loopy Hemp Cord bow (find my tutorial here). Next I used the Flower Medley Die-namics to cut out the Red Hot flower and the polka dot bloom. I layered them together and added a Lemon Drop button tied with Hemp Cord.
On the inside I stamped a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental about New Beginnings.
Here are all the sketchy details:
There's a prize each week for one participant, chosen at random. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week a keyword is assigned to the sketch, and this week's keyword is MFTWSC115. All you need to do to enter is upload your card to the gallery at Splitcoast and enter the given keyword in the keyword box during the upload process. After the deadline (noon Eastern on Tuesday) we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher!
Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog to view the entire list of design team participants...there's plenty of inspiration for you with today’s sketch!
