Today I worked with the fabulous Bookmark Duo Stamps and Die-namics set to create a card and a bookmark. I still know plenty of people who prefer a paper book to an eReader, so I know this will be a great gift.
Let's start with the card. I chose papers from the Simple Stories Fabulous collection.
I used the Designer Labels 4 STAX Die-namics to cut out the Kraft card stock sentiment panel then stamped the sentiment with black ink. I used the Triple Scallop Borders Die-namics to cut out the pink patterned paper then stitched it across the top of the sentiment panel. Now that I look at it, the gingham reminds me of a fabric topper for a homemade preserve jar. LOL!
I used the Medium Leafy Flourish Die-namics to cut out the Sour Apple card stock flourish then tucked it behind the sentiment panel. I used two of the five sizes in the Layered Rose Die-namics to create the flower and topped it with a Whip Cream button.
Next up is the coordinating bookmark. I love how feminine it is with the flower at the top, and just think how pretty it will be sticking out of the top of a book!
You'll notice from the design of the Bookmark Duo Die-namics, that there's only one size for the base layer, but my base layer is polka dot paper on Hot Fudge card stock. It was super easy to do by simply trimming the edges of the polka dot layer to reveal the Hot Fudge base layer below. Easy peasy! I stamped the word with Memento Rich Cocoa and the book was stamped with Versamagic Oasis Green.
I kept the layers lined up on the flower this time instead of offsetting them, and topped it with a wooden button.
