This is where I wanna be....

...soaking up the sun on a hot dry beach instead of drowning in the rain here in New England.
We had a wee water issue here yesterday. There was soooooo much ground water after a super heavy, never-ending rainfall that the water was running from the hydro transformer box through the conduit pipe into our hydro meter (on the outside of the house) and pouring out from the hydro meter, both into the yard and into our basement. Ugh...water + electricity = bad combination. To make a long story short, everything's been fixed, pipes have been sealed up, the basement (luckily this happened in the unfinished part) is drying up, and my neighbour and I got to spend the better part of the day with handsome firemen! I always look for the bright side in any situation and this time there were five bright sides.  :)

So for my Bellarific Friday card I just had to use a beachy stamp to mentally escape the rain. I chose Beach Hut and Ball from Stamping Bella. This week's sketch was provided by Lindabella. The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto ivory cardstock and coloured with copics. The umbrella is paper pieced. I reached for my Cosmo Cricket Early Bird patterned papers for this card because of the fab colours.

The ivory card base is 5.25 inches square. I stitched together some riding hood red and baja breeze cardstock then added the patterned circle. The strip across the middle is chocolate chip and so saffron. The image is layered onto blue bayou. I realize I went a little stitch crazy but I was loving the look with the ivory thread. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is also from Stamping Bella.

I can't wait to see what everyone else came up with! Let's head over to Bloggabella and check it out. Don't forget to leave a comment while you're there for a chance to win $10 Bella Bucks!

Thanks for stopping by!
Oh, and if you have too much sun where you live, feel free to send it to New England!
