It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC179.
Our sketch this week is designed by our talented Vicki Burdick. Thanks for the circle and the flags Vicki! I love it!!!
I pulled out supplies from My Favorite Things and decided to let a gorgeous big flower take center stage on my card today. I started with a card base of Whip Cream then added a layer of Steel Grey. The yellow woodgrain patterned paper is from the My Mind's Eye Bramble Rose collection.
For the flower I chose the largest size from the Plentiful Petals Die-namics and cut it out of Blu Raspberry felt. I also cut it out of Blu Raspberry cardstock and adhered them together so I could shape the petals a little. I noticed that a few of the petals aren't exactly lined up...wish I'd seen that before the glue dried! Doh! I cut out some Gum Drop Green leaves using the Royal leaves Die-namics and tucked them under the flower. Then I chose a pretty Razzle Berry button for the flower center.
As per the sketch, I added three flags at the bottom, cut out using the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics. I cut them from Kraft, Razzle Berry and Blu Raspberry cardstock. Then I tied a sweet Hemp Cord bow. The sentiment is from the Thankful Leaves stamp set and I embossed it with vanilla powder.
On the inside I stamped a sentiment from Polka Dot Greetings with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink and used the large banner from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics to cut out the double-ended flag.
I hope you'll play along with this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch and link your creation on Karen's Blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.
