It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC173.
I love this sketch, because I love circles, and since I designed this week's sketch I definitely wanted a circle element. I didn't know which image I'd used when I drew out the sketch, but when I sat down to create with it I thought the circle was perfect for a little snow flurry.
I started by cutting out a circle of Whip Cream using the Circle 1 STAX Die-namics, then I embossed it with the Polka Dots embossing folder. Next I used the Snow Drifts Die-namics to cut out the two snow drifts and added some Stickles along the top edge of each drift. I stamped the image from Pure Innocence Flurry of Love with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It Blending Card then coloured it with copic markers. I paper pieced her coat with one of the patterns from the My Mind's Eye Signature Christmas collection.
I used the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics to cut out the light blue flag and the middle size of the Let It Snowflake Die-namics was perfect to cut out the Whip Cream felt snowflake. I backed it with Whip Cream cardstock for more stability though, then topped it with a Kraft button tied with Hemp Cord. The base layer of Kraft cardstock was embossed with the modern wallpaper embossing folder.
On the inside I added a strip of patterned paper and stamped one of the sentiments from the set.
I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers came up with.
