For my first card I chose the Whales and paired them with the row of hearts and sentiment from Animal Love Sentiments. All the papers and ribbon are from my Valentine Key Ingredients.
The Whales are coloured with copics and the entire image is cut out with Labels Three Nestabilities. I added gloss to the hearts with my clear Glaze pen. To pierce around the edges I left my Nestabilities shape in place and used the inner edge as a guide.
I wanted a completely different look for my second card so I reached for my Basic Grey Origins 6x6 pad and let those colours guide me. The Owls seemed like a perfect choice for browns and greens.
I stamped the Owls once with Memento Rich Cocoa onto Choice Snow White then again with Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut out the brown tree, added a little colour to the hearts and gave them a sprinkling of glitter. Then I coloured the black Owls with copics and cut them out as well. I added a little detail to their tummies by drawing in scallop lines with my colourless blender (I went over the lines three times, letting them dry between). I had this idea to add a real branch for them to sit on but I was making this card in the evening, and it was dark out, so I wasn't about to go foraging in the back yard (we back onto a forest) and chance running into nocturnal creatures. So, I created my own branch by wrapping a few pieces of hemp with brown thread...voila...instant branch! The Owls are popped for dimension and also so the branch would fit under them. The sentiment is part of the Animal Love Sentiments set and the buttons are from my stash.
I know the rest of the Baker's Dozen has plenty more eye candy to share so I hope you'll pop over and visit their blogs.
See you tomorrow with more Animals in Love!
Thanks for stopping by!
