Taylored Expressions Beary Special Sneak Peeks Day 1

I'm SUPER excited to show you a couple of sneak peeks with the brand new set from the Taylored Expressions Giving Tree charitable program, Beary Special and Beary Special Accessories. The sets will be available for purchase on Friday, June 5th at 8am PST.

A portion of the proceeds of each set sold for the next three months will be donated to the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Although the hospital is located in Canada, it's known around the world for its innovation and leadership in research and its dedication to improving the health of children. This set holds a special place in my heart since I'm Canadian, but also because SickKids saved my friend's son's life last year. That friend is Nancy McKinney, the designer of this stamp set, and you can read about the story of her son Henri on her blog today

Can I tell you though, I gasped when I saw this set! Literally g-a-s-p-e-d! It is absolutely out-of-this-world adorable and I can see sooooooooo many uses for it. The images are darling, there are sentiments for all kinds of occassions, and it has the potential to be cute, classic or vintage depending on the supplies you pair with it.
I wish I'd had this card last year to send to Nancy and Henri in the hospital. I think it would brighten anyone's day. I went for a classic look with this first one.
I stamped the head bandage first with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White. Next I masked the bandage and stamped the bear, then coloured everything with copics. The little patch on his chest is a separate image which I paper pieced.
The flower is another image in the set and was also coloured with copics then popped with dimensionals onto the polka dot paper. For the "Believe" sentiment, I stamped it with black Stazon onto a clear acrylic tag then backed it with the gingham paper. I added some Espresso Dimensional Pearls to the flower center and the row of dots.

Don't you just wanna squeeze that teddy and give him a big hug! The layout for the bear card is Mojo Monday #89

This next card has more of a cute, whimsical feel.
I seriously could not decide which images to stamp from this set! I knew I wanted to make a birthday card so after playing a bit I landed on the floppy dog. I can picture every child with a floppy dog like this. The layout for this card is Taylor's Cupcake Challenge #70

I stamped the dog then masked his front paw so it would look like the balloon string was going under his paw, then I stamped the balloon. The dog is coloured with copics and I added the little lines by his tail so it would look like he was wagging it. Both the balloon and the present are paper pieced. But I added some shimmer to the bow with my green Atyou Spica glitter pen.  For this card I reached for my awesome Limited Edition Brilliant Key Ingredients and used papers from there. The "happy birthday" sentiment was stamped on the balloon...not sure if it was designed to fit but I was tickled when it did! The last little touch was two orange snaps from my stash.

As a reminder, the charitable sets will need to be trimmed from the sheet of rubber. This is to save on manufacturing costs in order to donate even more to charity. The sets will be available at Taylored Expressions on Friday, June 5th, 8am PST. Please visit Taylor's blog for more information.

Hop on to see what the rest of the Baker's Dozen has cooked up using the Beary Special and Beary Special Accessories sets:

I'll see you tomorrow with more sneak peeks of a different set.

Thanks for stopping by!
Karen
