Today I have two cards to share and they're completely different from each other. These are cards number 23 and 24 for Project Christmas 2013. Yay!
All the new products will be available in the MFT Boutique on October 8th at 10pm EDT.
I'll start out with my Happy Christmas card using Pure Innocence Happy Christmas.
I absolutely adore how this card turned out. You know when you make something and it just makes you smile? Well that's how I feel about this card.
I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added a layer of Sno Cone. Next I used the Swiss Dots Die-namics to cut out the Sweet Tooth background. I love how the holes show a peek of Sno Cone underneath and it looks like falling snow. I used one of the sentiments from Pure Innocence Happy Christmas, stamped with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink, stamped in the bottom right corner.
For the image I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It Blending Card then coloured her with copic markers. I used a yellow Spica glitter pen on the star for a little sparkle. I fussy cut around her and mounted her on foam tape for dimension.
The background trees were fun to create. I started with the Tree Lines Die-namics and cut it from Sour Apple card stock. Then I cut it again from Sweet Tooth and trimmed off the white trees. I stitched the two layers together, leaving just a peek of green along the top of the white hill.
On the inside I stamped another sentiment from Pure Innocence Happy Christmas then I stamped the girl again with Pink Lemonade Premium Dye Ink.
**********
Next up I have a clean and simple Christmas card that uses FTL260, but I flipped it to make a wide card instead of a tall card.
I started with a Primitive Cream card base then built the card on a layer of Kraft.
The sentiment was created by using the Christmas Greetings Die-namics to cut out Paver Red card stock. Then I simply adhered it to the Kraft layer.
I used the new More Washi Patterns stamp set to create the two vertical line patterns. I did it by creating a reverse mask. I used the Washi Patterns Die-namics to cut out two strips of plain copy paper, then I used the cut openings as a mask for the stamped images. The two patterns were stamped with Kraft Premium Dye Ink and Nightshift Blue Premium Dye Ink. I added a Timber Green button tied with Hemp Cord for a dimensional accent.

ReplyDeleteWow, those are two different cards...not sure how to choose a favorite between them! Your coloring is beautiful on the first and that is such a interesting and graphic layout on the second. If I had to choose...card #2 would win as I am the world's worst colorer!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! I'm not sure if I've already said this, but I love the new pic! I also like both cards -- seeing the scale of the trees next to the PI is a surprise to me, but/and I love them together -- how perfect are they together! So cute! And these new dies with the words are so fun too, perfect for a quick hostess gift card is what I'm thinking, those last minute things like when the kid says, oh yea mom, I said I'd bring brownies tomorrow.... I do love the large sentiments too though! Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas with us!
