MFTeaser - Celebrate

Welcome to day one of seven fabulous days of MFT teasers!

Today I made a sweet baby girl card using the new Bitty Banners and Bitty Banners Die-namics, part of the Lisa Johnson Designs line, along with the fun Laina Lamb Accent It - Celebrate Die-namics. All the new products will be available on July 9th at 10pm EDT, in the MFT Boutique. Be sure to hop over to the MFT Blog for a list of today's participating designers along with the amazing prize info!

I went the baby girl route because I wanted to use the colour combination from the Mixed Media Colour Challenge #2. Which also meant I needed to incorporate another medium besides ink. The layout is FTL245.

I started with a card base of Primitive White, then added a layer of Bubble Gum. I also added a blush layer and this is where the mixed media comes in. I used the new Petal Pattern Stencil along with some blended fibers paste to add texture to the blush layer. I sped up the drying process with my heat tool.

Along the top of the card I used the Accent It - Celebrate Die-namics to cut out the Primitive White strip and stamped "welcome baby" from Bitty Banners with Bubble Gum Premium Dye Ink.

Then I incorporated Banana Split card stock and the new Banana Split Premium Dye Ink for the banners. I cut them from Smooth White and Banana Split using the Bitty Banners Die-namics, then stamped patterns from the Bitty Banners stamp set using Banana Split Premium Dye Ink and white chalk ink.

The flower accent was fun to create using the bloom from the new Blueprints 5 Die-namics, cut from Bubble Gum card stock and topped with a Banana Split button tied with Hemp Cord.

On the inside I used more elements from Blueprints 5 Die-namics and stamped two more of the flag images from Bitty Banners.

Here are the supplies I used:

I am also going through the designers for MFT teaser day so I get a 2 for 1 look with this card today! :) Love the banners!!!! I really think I need to have the banners this month!! I am really impressed with how thin your fiber paste layer is. I think I have been doing mine wayyyyyy too heavy!!! Thanks for the inspiration for BOTH sites!

  17. Hi Louise, the paste I used is Liquitex Blended Fibers Texture Gel. I was expecting it to dry white too, but I like the clear look. I'm wondering if using my heat tool to speed up the process made it more clear.
