I combined a bunch of stamp sets to create an unconventional anniversary card with this week's sketch. I made this card for my hubby since our 15th anniversary is coming up in June.
I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added a layer of Steel Blue.
For the center panel I used the "acrylic block" technique I saw on Frances' blog. I inked an acrylic blog with Sno Cone Premium Dye Ink, Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink, Blu Raspberry Premium Dye Ink, and Steel Blue Premium Dye Ink. As long as you start with the lightest colour, there's no risk of contaminating your ink pads when the colours overlap. Then I misted the ink with water and stamped it onto some Smooth White card stock. Don't worry if you get white spots...it just adds to the technique. Then I used the "xoxoxo" stamp from Coupon Book - Love and stamped it repeatedly with the same blue inks. I trimmed the piece to size then layered it onto more Sweet Tooth so it would pop against the Steel Blue background.
I used the Fishtail Flags Layers STAX Die-namics to cut out the Sweet Tooth flag for the sentiment, which is from the Document It - Right on Target stamp set. I stamped it with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. Then I created the heart and arrow. I stamped the heart target using Electric Red Premium Dye Ink onto Kraft then used the Accent It - Feathers and Arrows Die-namics to cut out the arrow from Kraft, Electric Red, and Steel Blue card stocks. I added a silver sequin to the center of the target for just a little shine.
Here's a look at the dimension on the arrow tail. I cut two tail pieces, left one flat and scored the other down the middle so I could fold it for dimension.
On the inside I combined sentiments from Document It - Bingo and Clearly Sentimental about Anniversaries, stamping them with Electric Red Premium Dye Ink and Steel Blue Premium Dye Ink.
