Today the design team is featuring projects created with the gorgeous new Pretty Poppies stamp set, part of the Lisa Johnson Designs line. There's also a coordinating Poppies and Leaves Die-namics, and a brand new shade of red, Electric Red, which is being added to the MFT line-up with cardtock, ink, ribbon and buttons, all of which I used on my card today.
I started with a base of Whip Cream then added a layer of Natural cardstock and a layer of Hot Fudge. I used my Circle 1 STAX Die-namics to cut out the Natural circle then set to work creating the floral scene. I stamped the poppies with the new Electric Red Premium Dye Ink, then masked them with a post-it note so I could stamp the stems and leaves with the new Gumdrop Green Premium Dye Ink. The panel needed some dimension though so I used the Poppies and Leaves Die-namics to cut out one of the poppy blooms then stamped it with Electric Red Premium Dye Ink, coloured the center with copic markers, and adhered it with foam tape. I dusted off my old SU colour spritzer tool and added some spritzes of brown marker for a little more detail.
Across the bottom of the card I placed a layer of Electric Red cardstock then a strip of Whip Cream cardstock. I stamped the sentiment with Kraft Premium Dye Ink and added a strip of Electric Red grosgrain ribbon. I used the Poppies and Leaves Die-namics again to cut out two leaves and added an Electric Red button tied with Hemp Cord.
On the inside I stamped another gorgeous poppy and added another sentiment from Pretty Poppies. Can I just say how much I'm loving this colour combo...Hot Fudge, Electric Red, Natural and Whip Cream...who knew!
