It's à la modes day and I have a fun card using à la modes On Safari. I just love those big binoculars and her cute safari hat!!!
I started by stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black then I coloured it with copic markers. I coated the lenses of the binoculars with clear glaze pen for a more realistic look. For the sentiment I used on of the new Sentiment Strips Die-namics to cut out the Fossil card stock piece then I stamped the sentiment and stitched it to the image panel. It's a bit of an unconventional placement but I like the result. The image is layered onto Jellybean Green card stock.
I love the new Jumbo Cloud STAX Die-namics and I used two sizes of them to cut out the Puff Cloud White felt. Here's a tip: I like to back my felt clouds with white card stock to keep them rigid and it also makes them easier to adhere with foam boosters.
For the skyline I combined the new Solid Skyline Die-namics with the original Skyline Border Die-namics. I LOVE that they are exactly the same shape so it's now super easy to get the glowing "lights are on" look in the windows.
I used the Solid Skyline Die-namics to cut out the Lemon Drop card stock and the Skyline Border Die-namics to cut out the Fossil card stock.
Then I just used some liquid glue to adhere the two layers together (I use liquid glue for this because it gives me a little working time to slide the two layers around and get them perfectly lined up). I topped it all with some twine and a Sunflower button.
On the inside I stamped her again with Memento Peanut Brittle and added another sentiment from the set. The patterned papers are all from the October Afternoon 9 to 5 collection.
