This week Stamping Bella is the sponsor over at Card Positioning System and the sketch, CPS116, is super fun! Come play along and you could be the random winner of some fabulous Stamping Bella product!
I wanted to use some of my newest rubbah for this one and Lady Owlie on her Sign (including four sentiments) seemed like a perfect choice. I just love the way her head is cocked to one side and I'm pretty sure that if she had eyebrows, the right one would be raised a little. LOL...I just realized I'm sitting here trying to imitate her expression as I type this! LOL!!!!
I started by stamping Lady Owlie with Memento Tuxedo Black and colouring her with copics. I cut her out with Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities and layered her onto chocolate chip. For a little texture I added some Espresso Liquid Pearls to the wood branch and some Siren Smooch to the flowers.
The patterned papers are from Die Cuts With a View, the Woodland line. The blue base layer has the look of wood grain and the colours in the floral piece are so bright and cheery. I sewed around the base layer with a zig zag/straight stitch combo...I wanted it to look a little quirky just like the owl. I used one of my EK slim border punches on a strip of chocolate then tied some blue stitched ribbon and added a matte chocolate button to the bow. The space between the stitch lines was the perfect size to add some Glitter Bella Dots in dark cocoa and poppy.
Today it's cloudy and dreary with rain forecasted for the entire day...yippeeeee!!! It's a perfect day to stay in and stamp!!!! We should always look on the bright side...right?!? :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Karen
