Welcome Aboard

Today we are welcoming two new members to the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team. I'm pretty sure you already know them, but you'll have to hop over to Karen Giron's blog to find out who they are.

I made a super simple card in celebration of their addition to the team, and I think the sentiment says it perfectly. These two are both friends of mine in real life, and I know they're both AMAZING!! They'll be joining us starting next Sunday with sketch 188.

I started with a layer of Smooth White card stock then used the Peek-a-Boo Dots Die-namics to cut out the circles along the bottom. I backed it with Black Licorice. I chose the amazing sentiment from Bold Statements (which is the current Triple Scoop set for this month and you'll earn it free from MFT with a qualifying order) and stamped it with Razzle Berry Premium Dye Ink. Love the bold statement it makes! Then I added a layer of Razzle Berry card stock, tied a Hemp Cord bow and added two black rhinestones. The card base is Sweet Tooth. I'm also using this card for the current A.R.T. Challenge, ARTC3, which is "anything goes" this week.

Welcome to the Sweet Sunday Stampers girlfriends!!!

Bye Bye Google Reader

As you probably already know, Google Reader is being discontinued as of July 1st. That's just 2 days away people!!! Have you found your reader alternative? There are three readers out there that I know of and my suggestion is that you try out all three to see which one you prefer. But do it before July 1st so you can import your reading list, that way you won't have to find all your favourite blogs again.

My Favorite Things has done a blog post on each of the three reader alternatives:

Click HERE for the post about Feedly
Click HERE for the post about Bloglovin'
Click HERE for the post about The Old Reader

Currently I'm flipping between all three reader alternatives until I find the one that's just right for me.  There are pros and cons to each of them, so like I said, try them out and see which one suits you. But do it before July 1st! :-)

Believe

Happy Thursday friends! Today I'm doing something a little different...I'm guest blogging over on Christina Collins' blog: Don't Worry, Be Scrappy. How fun! I've never guest blogged for anyone before so I jumped at the chance when Christina invited me. Thanks Christina!

I created a sweet card for Maddy using Pure Innocence Believe in Magic from My Favorite Things. If you're a regular reader here then you know I've been sending cards to Maddy. Simon Says Stamp has organized a card drive for Maddy, and you have a chance to win a prize until the end of June, but I'm hoping the card drive will continue into the coming months.

For today's card I used FMS91 for the layout because I love the simplicity of it. I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added a layer of Kraft. The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It Blending Card then  I coloured her with copic markers. I like fussy cutting around these little girls because it makes them pop off the card (she's mounted with foam tape for dimension). I used the Sentiment Strips Die-namics to cut out the sentiment flag then stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice Premium Dye  Ink

Along the right edge of the card I paired Orange Fizz, Sour Apple and Razzle Berry card stocks for a pop of colour. I used the Darling Dots stamp set to create the dotted pattern using Orange Fizz Premium Dye Ink and the Dainty Dots Border Die-namics was perfect for cutting out the Razzle Berry dot strip. I cut it out a second time from Sweet Tooth and stitched the white centers in place.

On the inside I simply stamped another sentiment from Pure Innocence Believe in Magic then I stamped the girl again with Razzle Berry Premium Dye Ink

You still have time to create something and send it to Maddy.  Wink! Thank you again Christina for inviting me to guest blog! Be sure to check out Christina's blog: Don't Worry, Be Scrappy. She has plenty of gorgeous eye candy in the form of scrapbook layouts and cards too!

Hello {MFTWSC130}

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 130.

I actually didn't deviate from the sketch at all this week. I didn't even flip it! LOL! I started with a card base of Sweet Tooth then added a layer of Pink Lemonade.

For the main panel I used a layer of Kraft then used the Heirloom Label Die-namics to cut out the Sweet Tooth label. The Happy Hellos Die-namics are the star of this card and I used the clean font die to cut out the word from the label. I love the simplicity of this!

Across the middle of the card I used the Darling Dots stamped with white chalk ink to add pattern to the Hot Fudge strip. I used the Open Simply Scallops Trio Die-namics to cut out the Sweet Tooth scallop then added a few rhinestones. I used the Flower Medley Die-namics to create the flower from Razzle Berry and Pink Lemonade card stocks. I topped it with a Hot Fudge button tied with Hemp Cord.

Check out the shimmer on the light pink part of the flower. I spritzed it with MIX-ables Sheer Shimmer Mist before assembling the bloom. It's a subtle effect that you don't notice right away but it's so pretty!

Here are all the sketchy details:

There's a prize each week for one participant, chosen at random. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. This week's keyword is MFTWSC130. All you need to do to enter is upload your card to the gallery at Splitcoast and enter the keyword in the keyword box during the upload process. After the deadline (noon Eastern on Tuesday) one random winner will receive up to a $20 gift voucher!

Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog to view the entire list of design team participants...there's plenty of inspiration for you with today’s sketch!
