MFTeaser - Thank You

Welcome to day one of seven fabulous days of MFT Teasers!!

Today I'm showcasing the gorgeous new Peaceful Wildflowers stamp set which is part of the Lisa Johnson Designs line, and the coordinating Wildflower Die-namics.

MFT is also adding a brand new colour to the line-up, Steel Blue. swoon! On my card today I've used the cardstock, the ink, and the buttons. All the new products will be available in the MFT Boutique on May 7th at 10pm EST.

I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added a layer of Red Hot and Steel Blue. I stamped the diamond pattern from Distressed Diamonds using Steel Blue Premium Dye Ink then I inked the edges with white chalk ink to soften it just a little.

The flower panel was cut out of Smooth White cardstock using the new Heirloom Label Die-namics. Then I stamped one of the flowers from Peaceful Wildflowers using Steel Blue Premium Dye Ink and Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink. I used the coordinating Wildflower Die-namics to cut out the Red Hot bloom then stamped it with white chalk ink. I added some Stardust Stickles for a little sparkle. Once I was happy with all the flowers I wrapped the panel with Hemp Cord and tied on a Steel Blue button.

Along the bottom I added a strip of Berrylicious cardstock then used the new Dotted Scallop Border Die-namics to cut out the Kraft accent. I stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Wildflowers using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

On the inside I used the same bloom again, stamping it multiple times with Steel Blue Premium Dye Ink, Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink, and Red Hot Premium Dye Ink.

Hop on over to the MFT Blog for more inspiration from the  design team and to see the new products. MFT is giving away one $75 prize for each teaser day, so don't miss your chance to win!

Happy Mother's Day

With Mother's Day less than two weeks away I thought I'd better get my mom's card made.

Lucky for me, I'm actually going to be with her this year on Mother's Day. I can't even remember the last time I got to spend Mother's Day with my Mom.

I started with a Whip Cream card base then used elements from the Blueprints 1 Die-namics and the Blueprints 2 Die-namics to create the layers for my card. I cut out the Kraft rectangle and the Paver Red scalloped square using the Blueprints 1 Die-namics. I stamped the houndstooth pattern from Spring Backgrounds with white chalk ink.

The sentiment panel was also cut out using the Blueprints 1 Die-namics. I stamped the sentiment from Sweet Roses using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink then added a couple of flourishes from Finishing Flourishes with Kraft Premium Dye Ink.

The double ended Kraft flag was cut out using one of the elements from Blueprints 2 Die-namics. I used the gorgeous Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics to create the Pink Lemonade flower and the Sour Apple leaves were cut out with the Royal Leaves Die-namics.

On the inside I mimicked the layout on the front of the card and stamped another sentiment from Sweet Roses and more flourishes. The longer Paver Red strip was cut out using the Blueprints 2 Die-namics.

Life is Pretty Amazing

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC183.

Surprise, surprise...I didn't flip the sketch this week! Ha ha!!

It's been so long since I inked up one of the inspirational sentiments from Vertical Greetings II by My Favorite Things so it was high time to get that stamp set inky. I started with a Whip Cream card base and added a layer of Kraft and Steel Grey.

I stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink onto the Whip Cream panel but there was too much empty space around it. I chose one of the flourish images from Finishing Flourishes and stamped it around the sentiment with Kraft Premium Dye Ink.

For the vertical panel I chose patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Unforgettable collection and used the Small Scallop Border Die-namics to cut out the Berrylicious scalloped strip. The Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics was perfect for cutting out the Pink Lemonade flag element.

I took the liberty of adding a pretty corrugated flower, which I cut out using the Pretty Posies Die-namics. I added some patterned leaves which I cut out with the Upsy Daisy Die-namics then topped it with a bright Razzle Berry button tied with Hemp Cord.

On the inside I used one of the sentiments from All Smiles. I think I'll be giving this to hubby. I know it's got a flower on the front but he'll still appreciate it, and he might even notice that the flower is made of cardboard.

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.
