I worked with the adorable Doodle Garden Springtime Wishes for tonight's post and I have a trio of cards to share.
My first card is one that's totally out of my comfort zone. I've been taking the Clean and Simple Cardmaking 2 class from Online Card Classes and this is one of the techniques I learned...clean and simple chalkboard.
I started with a card base of Black Licorice for this single layer card. The image and sentiment from Doodle Garden Springtime Wishes were stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I used my white gel pen to add the lines to each corner, which help frame her and direct the eye inward. For just a touch of colour I used a pink metallic Gelly Roll pen to colour in the tulips and added three doodle dots by the sentiment.
I used the same technique on the inside, stamping another sentiment from Doodle Garden Springtime Wishes, and the small flower cluster from Embellished Eggs. I added pink metallic dots to the flower centers. This technique looks easy, but it took me a couple of tries to get the lines nice and crisp, especially the finnicky white gel pen lines. But it was definitely worth the effort!

My second card is a soft and feminine card and I used DS86 for the layout.
I started with a card base of Whip Cream then added layers of Pink Lemonade and Kraft cardstock. I stamped the small sentiment in the bottom right corner using MFT Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. and used my Circle 1 STAX Die-namics to cut out all the circular elements on this card, with the exception of the button.
I stamped the image from Doodle Garden Springtime Wishes with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloured her with copic markers. I gave her rosy cheeks with some pink chalk.
I used the Button Border Die-namics to cut out the polka dot button and tied it with Hemp Cord. The patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye Memorable collection.
On the inside I stamped the image with MFT Pink Lemonade Premium Dye Ink then used one of the sentiments from You Make My Day.

My third card is another one that's out of my comfort zone because I coloured her with pencils instead copics...eeks! I followed Inge's fabulous pencil tutorial for the MFT Academy, which you can find HERE.
I started with a card base of Sweet Tooth then added a layer of Sno Cone cardstock. I'm in the clean and simple frame of mind because of the class I'm taking so I went with a super simple layout to let the image shine. I wanted to try my hand at colouring her on Kraft, so I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black onto the Kraft panel and set to work with my pencils. I paper pieced her dress with one of the patterns from the Authentique Fresh collection.
The sentiment is from the new Embellished Eggs set. I used the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics to cut out the Sweet Tooth strip and I ran the straight edge through the die a second time to create the double-ended fishtail. The sentiment was stamped with MFT Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.
On the inside I used one of the sentiments from Doodle Garden Springtime Wishes, stamped again with MFT Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.
