I knew I wanted to use the castle stamp for his card after seeing this stunner on Jessica Rone's blog. The castle is kind of a play on words too, cause our last name is Motz (it rhymes with boats) and it always makes me think of the moat around a castle. And he seems to think he's king (in a good way of course), so I HAD to get the Good Knight set from MFT as soon as it was released. :)
The castle was stamped 5 times with Memento black onto Sahara Sand. I coloured the images with Lyra pencils, odourless mineral spirits and a stump. Then I cut out the different layers and popped them on dimensionals, for a total of 5 layers of the castle. I knew this card wasn't going in the mail so I went a little layer crazy, but it looks awesome! I used Waterfall Stickles on the flags. The image is layered onto Night of Navy then Chocolate Chip.
The base is Sahara Sand, followed by Chocolate Chip, and the patterned papers are from my Basic Grey Granola 6x6 pad. For the banner, the 'King of the Castle' words come in the set, then I pieced together the other words to make the saying work for my card. The buttons are also from the Granola line.
We're hitting the slopes today for our first skiing of the season, then home for my mom's famous chocolate birthday cake (well it's famous in our family anyway but I had to bake it so it's never as good as when she makes it).
Thanks for stopping by!
Karen
