Sweet Sunday Bear Hugs

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC196.

I wanted to do a little colouring so I reached for one of the Pure Innocence stamp sets from My Favorite Things. I decided to use Pure Innocence Bear Hugs because she is just so darn cute!!! I wanna squeeze her!

I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added a layer of Kraft. Next I added some Nightshift Blue and Berrylicious.

For the image, I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloured her with copic markers. I fussy cut around her and adhered her with foam tape for a little dimension. I used the Pierced Rectangle STAX Die-namics to cut out the Kraft layer behind her.

In the background I used the dots from Large Scale Backgrounds stamped with Nightshift Blue Premium Dye Ink to add pattern to the dark layer, and the stripes from Plaid Builder Background, stamped with Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, to add pattern to the Berrylicious layer. A strip of Banana Split grosgrain ribbon ties in the yellow of her shirt. I added a talk bubble for the small sentiment, using the Chat Bubbles Die-namics to cut out the Sweet Tooth piece, then shortening one end of it by running it through the die cutting machine again. The sentiment was stamped with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

On the inside I added the image again, stamped with Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink, and another sentiment from Pure Innocence Bear Hugs.

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.

Noël {MFTWSC147}

It's time to get sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 147.

I used this week's sketch to create a quick and easy Christmas card using mostly just Die-namics dies. This is card number 28 for Project Christmas 2013.

Hop over to the MFT Blog to link up your creation and for all the sketchy details. You could win $20 gift certificate to the MFT Boutique just for playing along!

I started with a Primitive Cream card base then added a layer of Paver Red. I used the gorgeous Modern Morocco Die-namics to cut out the Kraft background layer.

For the flower I used the Poinsettia Die-namics to cut out the Pink Lemonade petals and the Fuse Green and Jellybean Green leaves, along with the Kraft center. I added some pearls to the flower center to give it some holiday shine.

I used the Sentiment Strips Die-namics to cut out the Primitive Cream strip then stamped the sentiment from Starry Christmas using Paver Red Premium Dye Ink.

On the inside I added a sentiment from Grand Holiday Greetings, also stamped with Paver Red Premium Dye Ink.

Have fun with this week's sketch!

Thank You {MFTWSC146}

I used this week's sketch to create another teacher thank you card for my sister-in-law. I was talking to her this past weekend and confirmed that she needs four cards for the kids' teachers, and this is number four.

I made a square card because of the size of the big Red Delicious Die-namics. I started with a Kraft card base then added a layer of Nightshift Blue. The patterned paper is from the Echo Park Paper and Glue collection...perfect for a school themed card.

Next I used the Red Delicious Die-namics to cut out the big Red Hot apple. The leaves were cut from polka dot paper and the stem was cut from Kraft.

I used the Sentiment Strips 2 Die-namics to cut out the Sweet Tooth strip then stamped the sentiment from Just My Type using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. I added a big Sno Cone button tied with Hemp Cord to finish it off. The Nightshift Blue background layer was stamped with the houndstooth pattern from Large Scale Backgrounds using Nightshift Blue Premium Dye Ink.

On the inside I stamped the alphabet strip from Journal It - Head of the Class using Kraft Premium Dye Ink. The "class act" sentiment is from the same stamp set and I used Nightshift Blue Premium Dye Ink to stamp it.

Have fun with this week's sketch!
