Sweet Sunday Witches

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC194.

I used the sketch to create a fun Halloween card. I like Halloween but I don't really decorate for it, but for some reason I really enjoy making Halloween cards, and Pure Innocence Little Witch was calling out to get inky. I flipped the sketch to work with my image.

I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added a layer of Fuse Green. I used the big Spider Web Die-namics to cut out the Black Licorice web for the background. Along the bottom of the card I used the Small Scallop Border Die-namics to cut out the Orange Fizz strip then I stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

For the image panel I stamped Pure Innocence Little Witch with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It Blending Card then coloured her with copic markers. I paper pieced her dress with a polka dot paper from Fancy Pants Oct 31 collection. I fussy cut around her and mounted her on foam tape to the Sweet Tooth rectangle, which I cut out using the Pierced Rectangle STAX Die-namics. I added a layer of Blu Raspberry underneath for a little pop of colour.

I cut a strip of Grapesicle for the horizontal element then stamped it with Border It - Mod Borders using Grapesicle Premium Dye Ink.

I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch and link your creation on Karen's blog. Now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers created.

Happy Holidays

Hooray it's Friday!

I really liked the colour scheme from my last card and I thought it would make a pretty holiday card so that's what I have to share today. This is card #18 for Project Christmas 2013.

I started with a Sweet Tooth card base and used RS82 from the Retro Sketch blog for the layout (but I flipped it once). Why is there a weird shadow across my card?!? How annoying. Trust me, the purple layer is the same colour all the way across.

I built the card on a layer of Grapesicle, which I mounted on foam tape to the card base. I used the Christmas Ornaments Die-namics to cut out the Sno Cone ornament and decorated it with the smallest size of the Let It Snowflake Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth. I added a rhinestone to the center then covered the snowflake with Star Dust Stickles for plenty of sparkle. The white hanging line is from the Christmas Ornaments stamp set, stamped with Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink.

I also used Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink to stamp the sentiment from Clearly Sentimental about Christmas. I rounded the top left corner with my corner chomper then added a scattering of rhinestones to finish it off.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi {MFTWSC143}

It's time to get sketchy with this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and sketch 143.

Hop over to the MFT Blog for all the details and to link up your creation. You could win up to a $20 gift certificate to the MFT Boutique just for playing along!

I chose a soft colour palette for today's card and used the fabulous Stylish Friends stamp set.

I started with a Sweet Tooth card base then added a layer of Grapesicle. I used the dots from Large Scale Backgrounds (this month's Free with $60 stamp set), stamped with Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, to add pattern to the Grapesicle layer. Then I used the High Tea Doily Die-namics (haven't use that one is wayyyyyy too long!) to cut out the Kraft doily for the half-circle element.

I stamped the girl from Stylish Friends with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloured her with copic markers. I added sparkle to the blue accents with a blue Spica glitter pen but they don't really show up in the photo. I fussy cut around her and mounted her on foam tape for dimension.

For the horizontal strip I cut a piece of Sno Cone then added a piece of lace trim. The Sweet Tooth tab was cut out using the Blueprints 7 Die-namics then I ran it through my Vagabond a second time with Grape Jelly card stock to get the "HI".

On the inside I stamped the dots again using Grapesicle Premium Dye Ink and added a sentiment from Stylish Friends using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

Have fun with this week's sketch!
